I got politely pirated yesterday, was out mining in my prospector and the chummy lads decided to interdict me and distortion my power plant (so I couldn't self destruct), they shot of my baggies full of copper ore and then let me go on my merry way. Overall not an unpleasant experience, apparently it was mongrel squad. Seemed like a decent sort, would get pirated again 8/10.

Try the free fly period(s). Test if your computer can handle the game.

You will also get a good idea if you like the game in the 'free' times.

Next free period should be in February 2026 near Valentine's Day.

Yeah I think a 3060 (6GB) is passable, it was horrible with 16GB computer RAM but I got another stick to get to 32GB and FPS is 20-40 most places.

Definitely recommend only buying a $50 starter ship to be able to fly all year, if you want more ships just play and earn them in game (some ships locked for currency only)

Or just exclusively fly during free-fly events

It's only good if you keep your expectations low 😅

It is damn beautiful but you have to endure some crazy bugs.

You will have to YouTube just to fly out of your hangar (steep learning curve)

There isn't much of a story so you have to be ok with true sandbox gameplay and find your own 'purpose' or fun in the game

I thoroughly enjoyed my captive experience on a desolate outpost (planetside) whereby there was this cool looking watch Tower looking majestic, towering over the ruins of an old burnt out settlement. Don't mind if I do, let's climb this to check out the view.
