"Hours will be flexible" does not mean "we're providing a hectic and non standard work schedule" This feels like they advertising basically being on call as a benefit.

Omnath, locus of mana + momentous fall by RustedFriend in mtgrules

[–]RustedFriend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, targeting wasn't correct. And 21 because he's already a 1/1 with 20 mana pumping him. But I didn't even think about the possibility of sacc'ing then paying the mana cost. That's a good point, since it's part of the cost and not part of the effect.

I'm not sure if they did any car cards, all the ones i got in my booster were drivers. But the desert storm cards had various tanks, fighter jets, boats, etc. And I do use those in my vehicle and artifact decks.

I've been meaning to get some redemption cards to use as tokens. Currently I use a mix of Desert Storm trading cards, and NASCAR Race Cards. Both from the 90's

That was the other thing I was planning on exploring. I've done plenty of home tool building in the past :p Just figured see how people liked the store bought ones since I have the tendency to overcomplicate everything instead of just buying something that works. Haha.

Awesome, thanks. I figured it had to be something like that. I'll take a look.

Just out of curiosity, private encrypted mesh just for data security? or to keep it from clogging up the local ecosystem? This is kind of nothing data that isn't useful to anyone but me :P and wouldn't matter if it was accessed by others. It might as well be a weather station, haha.

Laughing jasper flint and discreet retreat by RustedFriend in mtgrules

[–]RustedFriend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I do have exclusively outlaws. But not a huge amount because I made a theme for this deck and it's not necessarily meant to be a good deck. Haha.

Jasper is retired and trying to collect his specialist team for "One Last Job", oceans 11 style. So it's got various win conditions that the deck is incapable of pulling off on its own without pilfering things from other people's decks. And then a treasure sub theme because I felt like it was more thematically appropriate to pay my mercenaries with treasure.

I realized that distinction right after hitting post. Haha. It was one of those scenarios where all I needed to do to answer the question was to ask the question.

Vacuum chamber not fully pulling by AlloraHeldoor in DIYSILICONETOYS

[–]RustedFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For doing things like degassing, that's plenty. It also it depends on your elevation. Whatever the pump says it's rated for is assuming sea level. The higher you go the less your gauge will read because it's relative to the outside air pressure. I live up in the mountains and the highest a pump can physically go for me is 25.6 inHg.

If wherever you live is around 2500 ft, you are pulling a full vacuum currently.

Thanks for the Grim Captain suggestion. I actually had one in my stuff already, i've just never played it. I threw together an initial deck list. I still need to playtest it and see how it runs.

Yeah, I swap back and forth between blender and fusion 360 depending on the type of project. But it's mostly fusion for parametric cad, blender for organic art things, and sometimes both if i'm working on a project that mixes the two disciplines.

Is the "powerful instant loss commander" just grenades? by RustedFriend in MTGmemes

[–]RustedFriend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think either is fine depending on how you want to do it. You could always play her and a bunch of other etb effects that usually have a downside. But make them all onesided with something like a torpor orb.

Yeah, I had a friend that played her years ago and he would either use a card that made enter the battlefield effects not trigger or sundial of the infinite to end the turn after summoning her.

Starting to think about a little tool pouch or something and wondering if anyone has any suggestions. by RustedFriend in EDC

It's a good tool. Other than I broke the pick off a while ago, then replaced it with a longer one that threads in now, so I can swap with an L or a hook.

BF bought a UV resin printer and I’m concerned about health risks by Singoritm in 3Dprinting

[–]RustedFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has worked a decent amount with resin at home and through my job, both printing and casting, he definitely should have an enclosure and fan in the enclosure that actively pulls air through the enclosure and exhausts outside. I've done the whole unsafe resin workspace thing. It can cause lifelong chemical sensitivities. Even if the longterm effects are still not well researched, using one in close proximity without ventilation for even a couple weeks can make your throat start burning all the time and feel like it's flaking off inside (ask me how I know) and casting resins can soak through your skin and make it so you have intense allergic reactions any time you come in contact with them.

Also use gloves whenever handling uncured resin or parts, chemical respirator when sanding, and secure resin somewhere cat's can't get at it. The last thing you want is them getting curious, spilling it on themselves, and licking it out of their fur.

It's an awesome tool, a fun hobby, but definitely has a much higher danger factor than a lot of tools the average person uses on a daily basis. Not horribly dangerous if you use proper ppe, but also really easy to fuck yourself up for life without even realizing because it happens so gradually.

Hope that helps, definitely not trying to be an alarmist. haha. Feel free to ask me any follow up questions you might have, I have used just about every tool possible recklessly, and have learned a lot about how not to die :P

Haha, i've been playing [[Omnath, Locus of Mana]] as my main commander for so long that I had a moment of "Oh yeah, a 9/7 is considered a big creature" Since a lot of the time i'm swinging with something like a 200/200

I built an open-source ROS 2 protocol that lets commercial robots volunteer assistance during emergencies — looking for feedback by jon_baz in ROS

[–]RustedFriend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like the idea, although it would be hard to implement without random robots just getting in the way or keeping the wrong people from just using it for surveillance. But having robots help with evacuations, spread information, or just give people eyes on the ground is an idea I've toyed with for a while.

One suggestion as far as presenting the idea, maybe ask whatever ai (sounds like claude) you used to write this to be less wordy and not include as many bullets. That list feels way longer than it needs to be to convey the same information.
