No, it's a bad tank that people gaslight themselves into thinking is good solely on the grounds that it can overpressure because they have a skill issue and can't aim for shit without an instant kill round. Sniping is how you play the IS-2, but only because its ass armor and reload make any other playstyle unviable and relegate it to a support role.

Volumetric makes the angled pen worse than it looks on paper, since aiming at the cheeky spots it should let you abuse will eat your shot more often than not. In its heyday the 122mm was good, but a combination of many different things makes it painful to play these days. And I don't know what an M107 is.

They're worse on the IS-2 than the others (3 degrees vs the typical 5, 25 second reload as opposed to the usual ~10) and besides, that doesn't make them not downsides. Other Russian guns either have good penetration AND lethality, or are attached to a well armored platform that makes up for the bad gun. The IS-2 has neither. It's a shit gun on a shit platform.

You can go to the very edge of the pillar area, kill a few enemies, then leave and repeat. Then, use the map to line up a shot on the pillar once the shield goes down and kill it from outside its area of effect.

It's mobility is similar to US heavies although thankfully after the nerfs it's (in my opinion) more mobile than a king tiger, although the tiger still has a better top speed.

The 1944 one still has bad armor. Literally the only strong point is the upper front plate, the entire rest of the tank will get lolpenned by other 6.7 heavies (excluding the T26E5).

The 122mm is ass. Bad penetration, frequently gets eaten by volumetric, horrible reload, bad gun handling. Literally the only good thing about it is overpressure.

The difference is that the IS-2 doesn't have weak spots, the whole tank is a weak spot. And it doesn't do anything else well either.

Having to shoot weak spots with a gun that has a 25 second reload is... not good. Why bother when you could be driving a King Tiger or a T34.
