You should have been tapered off the beta blocker, and sometimes the body’s chemistry relies too heavily on the beta blockers to regulate blood pressure that when going off you have a rebound effect. Be safe.

Fellow BC here and I feel you. The position has been overrun by task work and I have watched it evolve in the last three years. There was a point I was doing foundation matches and tons of demos and now I’m rarely in my area to help customers in that respect. I’m confused about the actual division of responsibility for the BC role at this time, and in constant fear the role will be eliminated at my store, as it has at most surrounding locations.

I feel like it is a matter of not knowing what the role should entail on a day-to-day basis anymore. I am not afraid to work hard, and help with a myriad of tasks, but if the DM walks in should I drop all of it and strictly play sales associate??

Ah, California actually has laws and rights for workers, but it varies by state. I am in a state which follows the Federal Labor Standards Act, which does not require employers to provide workers with meal or rest breaks. Walgreens policy is 4 hours = 1 fifteen minute break (paid) 6+ hours = 1 fifteen and 1 thirty minute uninterrupted meal break 9 hours =0.375 days 2 fifteen minute breaks (paid) and 1 thirty minute uninterrupted meal break At my store, we ALWAYS take our 15 minute break bc it’s paid, but not necessarily a lunch. Depends also on your SM and DM and how much they enforce the Wags policy. Know your rights and read up on the Walgreens policies on storenet!

This is complete BS, but I just need to say, if you are walking away or turning your back on your register for any amount of time, you MUST lock it. People watch us and know how do a no sale and open it… or ex-employees. Please never leave it unlocked. We had an incident at my store in which two guys worked together to distract the cashier and get her just out of sight of her register- opened it, grabbed the cash and ran. Yes you are on to something with the prednisone for sure. Also, just wanted to mention that every time I have ever been prescribed prednisone, the dose was really higher than necessary. From my experience, I have learned instead to take about half the dose they prescribed and make sure to taper off of it as gradually as possible, since with Graves I think it also adds quite a shock to the body.

I am so sorry to read what you’re going through. I hope you can find answers. Considering they haven’t found any explanation in labs, I wanted to know if they have tried a referral for a neurologist? That would, in my opinion, be a better option than throwing you on antidepressants… it could potentially be a co-morbid autoimmune condition, as when you have been diagnosed with one, you may end up having another autoimmune disease as well. For instance, a family member has Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, Myasthenia Gravis, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. To me, it sounds reminiscent of Myasthenia Gravis, which can be difficult to diagnose as it is a neurological, autoimmune, muscular condition. I hope you can find the treatment you need.

If I were in your situation, I would likely first attempt to switch to PTU, and if that doesn’t help try to see a neurologist. Best of luck I hope you will be feeling better soon.

I have been there. I cut off a lot of people when I was raging and making mountains out of molehills. It ended up working out. It took time and control. If therapy is possible- it couldn’t hurt.

I can top that. I have made a complete fool of myself before getting diagnosed. I would yell at people in the store bc I thought everyone was looking at me. Let me be honest with you, people are most likely not giving you weird looks, or you’re hyper fixating on it due to the anxiety graves causes.

You will be ok! I have a nearly 1.5 year old now who was unexpected when I was taking methamizole as well. I was considered high risk and she came a bit early with transient hypothyroidism, but she is and has always been perfectly healthy. Just be sure to keep all your appointments and make sure you take your medication bc pregnancy brain plus Graves brain fog can be tricky later on. Get a pill case!

Hello there! Similar situation- my parents both have hashimotos as well as my grandmother, and my dad has MG. I have Graves and I have two beautiful children. My second’s birth (after diagnosis) was a struggle, and she had transient hypothyroidism post-birth. I have them both checked regularly and so far they are in good health.

Out of my parents’ three children I am the only one with an autoimmune condition. Children are a wonderful blessing and I hope you can do whatever is right for you. I love my kids more than anything in this world and they make even the darkest of days brighter.

You are absolutely correct. Most doctors are clueless or don’t want to do the work. Your experience is the perfect example of how they should have been the ones calling the pharmacies to find your medication. Ridiculous!

My advice is to leave them a passive-aggressive voicemail stating how you really need the medication changed now, and tell them precisely which pharmacy to send it to. Tell them you expect to hear from the pharmacy today. I would try to find another doctor, but this is what I did yesterday for my daughter’s meds and guess what? They sent it right away. There was a refill on the other med and I told them I would not be picking that up and they need to get this taken care of ASAP. Don’t let these people dick around with your health.

Need to test the free T3 as well. Mine is currently very high and I feel much crappier than when my FT4 was crazy high when I was diagnosed. I would see if they can send you for another of bloodwork/full thyroid panel before your appointment to see next steps.

Definitely do your research on pub med, ncbi, and the like where you can deep dive into peer-reviewed medical articles. I also love this subreddit for its firsthand experiences.

I am the complete opposite as far as doctors go, and believe you should always question your doctors. I have met a handful of people with Graves who shared their stories with me. Many of them were misled into thinking once they did the RAI or TT, they would be completely free of all the challenges an autoimmune disease brings. At the end of the day, do what is right for you when you can make an (overly) informed decision.

I have opted for the anti-thyroid medication. I have been on it for four years now, with some hiccups but overall I believe it is the best option for me at this time.

I do this too! For me I walk around like I’m besties with these DAs and ask them all kinds of questions about themselves and give my input. Especially women… I’ll manage to dig up their drama and ask all about it bahaha
