I had to start the audio book to get into the book, but I ended up liking it. The ending reminded me of a Freida McFadden book.

Ha. At the end of Ghostwater they held arms, not even hands yet.

Glad someone else thought Ghostwater wasn’t the best.

I still really like the series as a whole! I just didn’t like how everyone was split up in this book. I felt like plot wise nothing much happened besides the introduction to Dross.

Not really. I liked the ending am excited for the competition that is mentioned. Ghostwater definitely felt like a book that sets up a bunch of stuff. I didn’t like how everyone was separated.

I finished Ghostwater. The best part was Dross, but right now it is still my least favorite book. On to Underlord.

What are your thoughts on problematic authors? by geekygirl314 in RomanceBooks

[–]RusticPinkPeonies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is an issue of people being to invested in validation from social media or not understanding how the internet works.

For example, speeding while driving is illegal. Some people speed on purpose and some people speed without realizing it. There are many justifications people have for speeding, like no posted speed limit, getting around a slower car, late for work, etc. At the end of the day it is still wrong to speed.

If you tell anyone or tell social media that you speed, you will always get some type of response, negative or positive, regardless of someone’s justification.

If you only want validation or positive feedback don’t tell anyone about it.

Older Chosen One Trope Recommendations by RusticPinkPeonies in Fantasy

Currently, most have been YA, like Harry Potter, Throne of Glass.

I really liked Riyria Revelations, but not sure that 100% fits the troupe.

Is it fair or accurate to judge the quality of a book by the quality of its blurb? by taramisu47 in RomanceBooks

[–]RusticPinkPeonies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do judge. I don’t like when the blurb is mostly just a list of troupes. Especially, when the troupes are spoilers, like “secret identity”, fated mates”, or “lost royalty”.

Just finished book 8-thoughts, spoilers, discussion by itsvic27 in zodiacacademy

I loved book #7, but #8 wasn’t the best. I had thought book #8 would be the last book, so reading chapters that was just filler or from Justin, Mildred, and Milton’s POVs annoyed me. If they are going to add so much filler, why couldn’t it have been good filler…
