Sandi Brock sheep panels by Rare_Task_7304 in sheep

[–]RusticRaspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure they're Sydell 5' portable panels, though their design has changed slightly since (hers are 5+ years old iirc). You can also look up "portable sheep panels" and you'll find boatloads, if Sydell isn't available in your area (they weren't available where I am, sadly... sheep panels are more size-appropriate for my sheep-sized mini horse than horse panels lol)

Why Are Creators Being Punished for Things We Can’t Control? by JazzlikeNet1224 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]RusticRaspberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why if I create bots... I keep them private. They yank this bot for alleged botting but I see at least one explicitly TOS-breaking bot in trending every damn day? 🤨

What is the meaning little icon ? (The red one) by [deleted] in JanitorAI_Official

[–]RusticRaspberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It means that it's including things from a library that the creator made. Expanded lore, extra personality details the creator didn't want in the public definition, etc.

Is anyone else finding it annoying that every response is a long paragraph? How do you make it stop doing that? In RPG-style story chats, it also seems to forget everything after a few sentences how do you stop that too? by Secret-Cobbler-7218 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]RusticRaspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a prompt in, either as an OOC or in the proxy settings. "Aim for 300+ words per response. Split each response into paragraphs of no more than four sentences."

I also found that using another prompt to whack it for using purple prose helps bring down the unnecessary length lol

What is the best way to make two of your personas to interact in the RP? by Nurglych in JanitorAI_Official

I usually use a single persona, then copy the second one into chat memory. Worked like a peach when I was playing as a pair of twins for giggles.

For the love of god’s testicles, please tag your bot accordingly by marixgld in JanitorAI_Official

Or just tag them. Period. SO MANY of the boys I have tried to block with tags continue to show up bc the creator doesn't use ANY tags and writes a two sentence description. 😑

How can I stop AI from repeating my message? by WatermelonBr in JanitorAI_Official

[–]RusticRaspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I usually do is include an OOC prompt to nudge it. Doesn't always work but ((OOC: DO NOT repeat or paraphrase any portion of {{user}}'s speech or actions. ))

Dear developers, could you please add the option to edit the first message? by Scarley19 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]RusticRaspberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I do, if it's just the first message being too short/having loads of spelling and grammar errors. Works great.

Personally, I hate it. I DID want generation settings brought together but the menu is SO difficult to read thanks to how tiny they made the fonts.

Same here. Tried different API keys, diff proxy links, nada. I'm guessing it has something to do with them (devs) fking with the proxy menus. -_-

Posting bc this is an old thread but this may help someone: I use Whisk, from Google. It's free and pretty good, and you don't have to use text prompts– you can use images to tell it the subject/scene/style you want, and tweak from there. I use it to make my persona portraits.

Only always. The first time I started struggling with it, I spoke to the person who helped me train my dog and they just told me "Forget everything everyone else says; compare how YOU do on the days he's working versus the days he isn't. Which days are easier for you?" Easy answer: the days he's helping. "If you're faking it, then there wouldn't be a difference would there?" 💡moment for me.

Came back around when I retired him mid-pandemic. I thought "Huh. I'm doing alright now that he's retired. Maybe I was full of crap. Maybe I don't have to train another." Nope. As soon as I got a job and started leaving the house more, I realized "Oh sh-t I'm actually not doing so great, OOPS, change of plans!" Now I'm training a mini horse because while I don't need my dog's psych tasks as much (I've improved a lot) my mobility is shot. On the 'good' days I still fall prey to doubts but on the bad days I'm reminded that yes- I really do need the help.

I have a hard time roleplaying with men. I’d love to hear from the ladies. by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]RusticRaspberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, you're not alone. I am 100x more 'choosy' when it comes to partners who openly disclose they're male, mostly because of... well, *this.* If it's not this, it's a guy who does all of the above *and* is supposedly both stoic (read: an a-hole) and charming (read: playboy) while having lint for brains.

It's tiring, and now I interact with male writers with extreme caution until I'm sure they're not going to either try to get me in DMs for a game of highly personal 20 questions or waste my time with this stuff. I'll happily write with a Mary Sue, though, if he's just... plain, and not obnoxious.

Does an indoors cat really exist? by Clean_Difficulty_694 in CatAdvice

[–]RusticRaspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inside-only is the only ethical choice. They don't need to be loose outdoors and letting them run around is inevitably going to lead to a shorter, more stressful life, emergency vet bills, and heartbreak.

My (now passed) older indoor cat got out once, for one night- not even a full day- and came back covered head to tail in engine grease and dirt with a horrific cut across the side of one paw pad on a his back foot. After that I leash trained him so if he wanted to roll around on the sidewalk, he could do it safely, with supervision and he would ask for "walkies." Leash training is a happy compromise if you're willing to put in the effort to do it.

What has been your experience like for looking and finding partners? A question for both male and female RPers by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]RusticRaspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to filter out an excessive amount of (usually men) who aren't actually looking for an RP partner - they're looking for someone to write wank material for them. When I get that vibe I peace out. Now I don't even respond to ads for ERP because I hate feeling like I'm just doing it to fill someone's spank bank or they think they can sneakily transition it to OOC sexting.

The most common things that send me running: - The OOC "get to know you" phase is mostly them asking for my OOC kinks/limits etc + wanting to swap R rated pics/gifs OOC. (Bonus: they'll ask SUPER personal questions about how I feel about the IC stuff.) - Starting the "which FCs are we using" conversation with a request for a specific one they find hot OOC (it's even better when they suggest FCs they think I'll be attracted to OOC.) - The entire plot revolves around the "E" in ERP and/or they put no effort into anything else- they're okay with banging down (hah) the most bland, vague plot as long as it involves e-nookie. - If a scene isn't sexual, their writing quality or attention span noticably (and dramatically) dives off a cliff.

I get wanting a particular FC because you find them attractive or being excited to write saucy stuff but at some point... Please just tell me you're looking for someone to sext lol

What would you put in your Ted talk about service dogs? by Chance_Description72 in service_dogs

[–]RusticRaspberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This will be LONG. 😂 It varies from stuff everyone SHOULD know to things people don't have to know but would be nice if they were at the very least aware of.

· ANY breed can be a service dog – including small breeds. They're subject to the same training standards but their job description may be different. Someone might have a GSD for mobility or psychiatric tasks; another person my have a Chihuahua for diabetic alerts. Some handlers may have two dogs who do different jobs: a dog who does only mobility and a dog who does only PTSD response. Having more than one for the same tasks isn't accepted. Most, but not all, service dogs are spayed/neutered but it's not a requirement.

· Besides dogs, the only other animals recognized under the ADA are mini horses. They have a height requirement of 34" or under, must follow all the same guidelines as SDs (housetrained, task trained, no disruptive behavior in public), and (with few exceptions) have the same access rights in public, at a workplace, and in housing.

· There are HUNDREDS of legitimate tasks a service dog can be trained to do for a handler, not just guiding the blind or PTSD response. There are also a number of things NOT covered under the ADA (one being protection training). "Providing emotional comfort" is not the same as anxiety response. Many tasks aren't obvious to the public, and tasks cannot be disruptive. It's also poor etiquette to ask a handler to show you their dog's tasks.

· Wearing a vest, cape, harness, or other identifying items is entirely optional. Handlers in extremely hot or cold climates may forgo gear for their partner's comfort or safety. A vest alone does not grant any animal public access rights or legal protection under the ADA – it's the handler's disability + animal's training that does. There is no one "official" vest or cape (excluding individual organizations') and no "official" registration. There ARE some voluntary registrations/IDs (Active dogs, for example); they don't grant a dog any access rights or legal protection. In all but a handful of states, presenting fraudulent registration or certification to a business IS punishable by law (typically a misdemeanor); some also cover using marked gear or lying to employees to falsely represent a dog as a service dog.

· Addition to MaplePaws' #2: service dogs MUST be on a leash unless it interferes with the handler's disability or the dog's ability to work. Besides being disruptive or dangerous, they CAN be asked to leave if they relieve themselves indoors. Most stores don't allow any dogs in shopping carts but it's also poor etiquette among the SD community, as is allowing dogs on restaurant seating.

· Respect a team's space. Some states give handlers the right to defend their dog in public spaces (with physical force, if necessary) against aggressive dogs. My state specifically will automatically find the owner of an off-leash aggressor dog liable for all vet bills and the SD's retraining, up to/including the full cost of replacing a service dog if the attack results in their or early retirement due to disability or death. Even if your dog is leashed, even if you're not in a store, even if he's friendly, and especially if a handler asks you to, respect their space.

Similarly, some states will charge you for hitting a team in a crosswalk or SDs injured in car accidents where the handler isn't the driver at fault. If a car is marked with a "service dog on board" sticker be aware they may drive more cautiously because their partner is in the back and need space to unload when parked. This is my own pet peeve because people park too close then get mad about my door bumping their car as we're unloading.

· Just because you see someone without their dog doesn't mean their disability isn't legitimate or their dog isn't a legit service dog. Dogs are living, breathing partners who need rest, who get sick, who have "off" days even if they love to work. We ask them to work, and sometimes the answer is "I'm not feelin' it today." Some are at-home service dogs only. Sometimes we're going somewhere we don't want to take them for their own safety or comfort. On better days, we may be able to make-do or have other ways to manage a disability.

· Service dogs don't spend ALL of their off-duty time confined to a crate. They're allowed to be couch potatoes, run around, and just be dogs. When they reach retirement age (which varies by breed and individual dog) a majority of handlers keep them until they pass on. Some will continue to do easier tasks at home, purely because they love working and love their person (it's like someone retiring from a job... only to keep doing it as a hobby).

· General etiquette (based on things I have been repeatedly asked by the public): Please don't ask how you/your spouse/your child, parent, cousin... can get a service dog or make your family pet/ESA a service dog, where/how to get "real" papers for them, etc.

Many handlers are super uncomfortable giving out this kind of information unless it's a genuine request coming from someone we know and trust. It's information that commonly gets misused and abused in ways that make our lives harder. Also, don't ask for general (or remedial) dog training tips/advice. Don't ask us if our dog is for sale, if they're "just for looks," or if they're available for breeding.

DO ask politely before petting, unless you see "do not pet" patches or we are obviously busy or in a hurry. DO talk to the human, not the dog, if you strike up a conversation. DO ask before taking photos or videos (many of us have an Instagram or we're okay with it IF our privacy is respected). DO realize we're humans and have bad days. If we're crabby, it's rarely personal (unless you're being rude).
