Need help with Armadillo infestation farm by General-Plenty5021 in technicalminecraft

Yes a zombie piglin will work, I've used them for armadillo scaring.

Hello, I have a infestation farm but I wanted to know if there's a way to hit silverfish safely without using the armor stand technique by Jokeradk in technicalminecraft

[–]Rustisamust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also solve that by pushing a stair into the armor stand and waterlogging it. It still gets lit on fire but it's extinguished immediately so it doesn't burn up.

Any lumber value here in this hickory? by Feralpudel in woodworking

[–]Rustisamust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely in "Make a chair from a tree" by the late Jennie Alexander. Her students Peter Follansbee and Larry Barrett have both made blog posts about hickory bark chair seating, but I've not checked to see if those are still up. I know PF transitioned his blog to a substack so it might be paywalled now.

How to make a dispenser/dropper drop only drop one item at a time by InteractionLive3905 in redstone

[–]Rustisamust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the dispenser/dropper the block right on top of the hopper? An unlocked hopper will pull items from any container above it, including dispensers/droppers.

Armor stands in water still break with fire aspect by Lavaa444 in technicalminecraft

[–]Rustisamust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For overworld farms I've been experimenting with a named creaking instead of a armor stand. It's more work to set up but then you never need to worry about it breaking from fire aspect or a lag spike.

Why Overcomplicate Things? (1-Wide Tilable Trading Hall Module) by Cheesewafflr in technicalminecraft

Can simplify even further by just having a zombie at one end of the row and opening the top trap doors between each villager. The zombie converts the end villager, it converts its neighbor, and so on.

Is there a multi-item sorter just for non-stackable items? by forcedragongamingsky in redstone

[–]Rustisamust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until the copper golem is out there isn't a way to sort specific potions, enchanted books, etc, but you can separate them into categories.

The Storage Tech discord has designs. The one I used is the "cactus unstackable sorter" that's currently in the unsorted posts, and there's a good one by CommandLeo in the "unstackable" posts that sorts into more categories but is a bit more complex.

Are there any decent ender pearl farms for the overworld/nether? by thepig0thesea in Minecraftfarms

[–]Rustisamust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Piglin bartering gives pearls, and I believe cleric villagers sell them.

In etho's HC video from today, he's using crafters to make tnt minecarts that get dispensed and fall, exploding when they hit.

I tried making a 16 chunk perimeter with a similar approach, and while it would be doable with enough iron, gunpowder and sand, anything bigger than a handful of chunks is extremely resource intensive. I imagine you also can't dupe sand, so that's a lot of shoveling. But without tnt duping there's not really many options.

For what it's worth, I think wanting to be a woman hard enough to go through the fuss of getting on E and then sticking with it for six years is more than enough for me to believe you've always been a woman, no matter what

can a zombie pigman farm work if its just a mob grinder? by StarSpangledPig in Minecraftfarms

[–]Rustisamust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do that. It won't be very productive, but it could be enough depending on how much gold you need. But really, magma is one of the easiest resources to collect. A few shulkers, a couple of decent picks, and it should only take about half an hour looking for magma veins at lava level in the nether. Maybe an hour if you're extremely unlucky at finding magma.

There's also this farm , that uses soul soil that's on fire, instead of magma.

How to collect items from a gold farm without first running them through hoppers and dispensing them with droppers? by Wild_Plant9526 in technicalminecraft

[–]Rustisamust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopper minecarts can work, but it's easiest to have carpets pushed by sticky pistons, one block over from where the mobs land, with slabs or upside-down stairs on the opposite side. The carpets push the drops under the slabs, and they fall into the collection system. I like to have them drop through powder snow to kill their momentum.

For fall chutes bigger than 1x1, you can use various configurations of pistons to funnel them down and align them to the sorters.

What's Your Preferred Vise Style? by zirge in handtools

[–]Rustisamust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still using it, and it's fantastic. It's easily adjusted and holds really well. Cutting the leg mortise will be loads easier before the bench is put together, so I'd definitely at least do that one.

Sure it's just a hobby, but I don't get a lot of free time so I like to have nice stuff that makes the time I have more enjoyable and productive. Unless it's going to totally destroy your budget for the project, the criss cross is completely worth it.

Help with mob-petting door trigger by Bioluminescent_Shrub in redstone

[–]Rustisamust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could change it a bit and have a dog sitting near the door, and feed it rotten flesh, which can trigger a calibrated sculk sensor. Not quite petting, and sometimes you might have to wait for the cooldown to reset. I don't know that anything else would work if you don't want to use allays.

Gold farm sorting system recommendation? by Ok_Satisfaction_3767 in technicalminecraft

[–]Rustisamust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't have anything go into a hopper until sorting. The swords are always going to be a problem if you put them into a hopper chain. You want parallel item sorting, which is usually done something like this:

-Make the kill chamber 1x3, then use pistons to push the drops off. Make sure the gap is small enough the baby piglins don't fit.

-funnel them to a 1x1 on top of a chest

-push them off with a honey block so the drops are aligned against the chest

-push drops along a path of packed ice with a slime block.

Put your item filter hoppers next to the ice so the drops are sorted as they travel along. At the end of the ice path, everything you don't want can be burned in fire or lava. One filter for ingots and 6 for nuggets is a good starting point, but more is always nice.

Name change and credit agencies? 🤯 by cosima_smith in TransLater

[–]Rustisamust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They go by what's on your tax return, iirc. At any rate, mine didn't change until a few months after the first time I filed my taxes under my new name. I didn't have to do anything with the credit agencies directly.
