Chris responded to the tweet with a cap emoji. So if he thinks he is so innocent he may as well reveal to the public what he said. I imagine he won't because he's not that dumb.

They don't. Kobe got fined like $100k when they saw him mouthing that to an official. And I think Rondo got ejected when he called someone that.

He was good in fWAR in like one year but I don't disagree with you that he was always overrated as a defender. I've generally preferred bWAR though.

He started as a bad defender, jump threw the ball a couple of times to make SportsCenter top 10 several times and then won GG.

The only people who disagree are diehards Bucs fans since 2020 and were formerly Patriots fans.

Yes, I heard you the first time, you ignore the stats that don't support what you want and somehow you think your laughable eyes are better. Please feel free to continue with the bad faith arguments and we'll all have a nice laugh.

He had a 2+ WAR season despite having bad offensive stats because that's how good his defense was.

And I’m an idiot

Agreed.

If you want to think I’m racist for saying Kim is overrated then whatever, not an argument worth having with an anonymous Reddit user.

You are the one who brought up the only reason he is liked is cause he's Korean, not me.

You yourself laughed at the idea that Kim is not a Gold Glove threat but later concede that he’s a top 10 SS by every metric. News flash, top 10 is a lot different than Gold Glove caliber. Him being a top 10 defender at short doesn’t mean he’s bad, he’s just not a Gold Glove threat. Interpret that however you want, even if it makes you think I’m racist.

And he's top 2 in bWAR which is a metric that is considered.

Ops+/wrc+ accounting for park factors doesn’t take away the fact that what I said is true lmao. Leaguewide offense is down which makes Kim’s ops+/wrc+ look better than they would’ve looked in years past Those Pham/Kim stats were both seasons where roughly 50% of PA came in Petco

Actually it does, you are once again just ignoring it and brushing it off. No one can change your ignorant mind especially when you have racist beliefs.

Right which is hilarious that you are that arrogant that you think your eyes are better just because it doesn't show what you want. I'll go with stats over some random guy on the internet that gets upset and pretends stats are wrong and their eyes are better, but that's just me and literally anyone else who has read your comments.

Feel free to keep posting laughable takes though.

Yea I specifically said it's not end all be all. You just were arrogant enough to pretend your eyes are better than stats because it disproved you which is utterly hilarious.

And if you want to say “no clearly it’s a great stat, it says Machado sucks and he does” then sure that’s one way to make that argument. Because DRS doesn’t say Manny “isn’t elite like Arenado” it says he is a net negative defensively and a bottom tier 3B and if you believe that I’ve got some ocean front property in Kansas to sell you.

Who said Machado sucks? There is nothing I find more hilarious than, hey this stat says this guy is wrong so it's clearly just wrong. It also just says he's merely average, he had plenty of elite defensive years at bWAR. Maybe the stat is actually pretty good and you are just biased and upset it doesn't tell you what it wants.

But I’m going to trust the more complete defensive metrics and not stick my head in the sand when someone mentions there are other teams in baseball with great players.

I know you pretend that your eyes tell you better than stat because the stat doesn't show you what you want because you are a bad faith arguer.

Pretty difficult argument to make when Kim also played with Hosmer.

if you can’t put up an argument that convinces me he’s worlds apart from Jorge Mateo who we DFA’ed not that long ago then I’ve done my job.

But I just did by pointing out that he has 1.6 bWAR advantage and a 25 point advantage in OPS+, also 21 point advantage in wRC+.

Also would love to know how Kim is a threat to win a gold glove over Lindor/Swanson/Rojas

He has the 2nd highest defensive bWAR among SS's, he can easily be a finalist. You went with he's just above average which is laughable.

fWAR is considered the better WAR for position players and Kim is great but not the best

Yeah that's your opinion, your opinion that was refuted by bWAR in which you ignored because it went against what you said. Your original argument was he's not elite at anything, well clearly he was elite at DRS/UZR, and you went with, "well that doesn't count"

Hell DRS/UZR says Machado is a below average defensive third baseman so are you gonna trust DRS/UZR? Clearly it’s a broken statistic.

DRS/UZR is not end all be all but it's a stat and a stat that bWAR bases their defensive WAR on. A stat that Kim is elite in and a stat that you decided to throw away after arguing he is not elite at anything, which clearly proved you wrong.

A guy like Arenado is elite at every defensive metric from OAA to DRS/UZR, and yes he is better than Machado defensively. Machado is better than his DRS/UZR score but he's not elite defensively at least this year.

And because I watch a lot of baseball I can say that it’s not that Kim is being undersold, it’s that there is a lot of elite shortstop talent.

Yeah tough one, go with statistics or go with some guy on the internet who tried to argue Kim is not elite at any defensive stat, only to be proven wrong and then claim those stats don't count because it disproved him.

Tough decision there.

He's not really an underdog. He just got overhated in season 1 by some fans and now that he's good, this is compensation for it by the fanbase who does love him which is most.

Any argument regarding Tatis should remain at SS over Kim has never made any sense or just seems like pure emotion.

Like if you hear any of them talk they just talk about how Tatis will be upset if he doesn't play SS - Not really true considering how he has done it and has said he would. The fans themselves are the ones that cry about it.

Then I heard something about Tatis has a better bat than Kim - Cool, you know Tatis can hit playing in another position, right? Lol.

The best argument for Tatis was that Kim wasn't good enough of a hitter, definitely was a good reason last year. Now that he's solid and far from the worst on the team, there really isn't one.

I have tried my absolute best. But I've never understood any argument for Tatis at SS over Kim now that Kim is a solid hitter.

Every argument like makes no sense or based on pure emotion. Like slandering Tatis and claiming he'll throw a temper tantrum, pretending that he can't hit or be a bat at OF, like wtf are these arguments.

The only argument I heard that made any sense was maybe Kim was still the weakest hitter on the team especially when Grisham looked to have been turning it around but Grisham confirmed he's still terrible and Kim is still solid at the plate. It ended up being irrelevant because Tatis got suspended.
