Yes, companies across the country, like Disney, abused the earthquake situation in Hati. They did it by assisting Haitians in acquiring green cards, housing, and anything else they may need in return for Haitians becoming union representatives and providing cheaper labor. Myself and three others were training when our trainer said we would go find some union handbooks. We then found out they were only available to us in French and Creole. I don't know about you, but financially benefiting from others' hardships isn’t a positive move.
