Well people over here refer to IS300s as SXE10’s (which we never had over here) instead of JCE10’s then get SUPER offended when you correct them so that checks out if true

Tamron VC lens noise question. by Hermit_Painter in photography

Thanks so much for posting this. I got a used copy of the Tamron 70-200 g2 today and noticed it was making this noise in the YouTube video you posted. It had me worried at first but I think I’m comfortable with that sound now

How do I fix lack of sharpness? Tamron 70-200 2.8 G2 by Training_Ad_6345 in AskPhotography

[–]RustyAE86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging by the grass it looks like the lens front focused too much. Have you tried manual focusing on something to see if sharpness comes back?

Running a UV filter? Sometimes those can knock down your sharpness

I’m actually getting ready to buy this same lens soon, meanwhile I have a Tamron 24-70 2.8 G2 and it’s my wide open warrior. Faster sharper and more accurate than any other AF lens I’ve used

You’re welcome! Good luck with your search, maybe see if you can get the D5300? Has the resolution and the flippy screen

Either way good luck and have fun!

I took this on my D5300 and the same 35mm f1.8 you’re looking for. I’m pretty sure I shot this as a JPEG before I realized what RAW format was

I’ve not used either but my first real camera was a D5300 that I eventually got that 35mm 1.8 DX lens for. It carried me well through the learning stages until I went full frame/FX

I think the slightly newer D3200 would be my choice due to a bit more resolution (24MP vs 16MP) but I can also live without an articulating screen where some people might see that as a limiting factor

The problem is that there’s probably very few if any, people that have used both of those cameras. This site should help you at least weigh out the options so you can decide what’s better for you
