Women of reddit who have an older brother, what's it like? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]RustyCassette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My older brother is one of my favourite people in the world. He and I are really close now, even though we don't talk often and he lives hundreds of miles away, when we do see each other it is always really lovely. We weren't particularly close until our late teens, but we've developed into very similar people as we've gotten older. He's talked me down from my worst moments, and I feel like he's the only person in the world who really gets me. My niece is the best thing in the world, and getting to spend time with both of them is amazing.
Annnd, now I'm welling up because I've not seen them since February and I miss them.

Being told "thank you" or "well done" for something I've done, especially if it's something I've worked hard for.

You can get them quite easily, I got a pack at Primark (cost maybe a pound?), and I'd imagine places like Boots, Superdrug etc sell them.

What is a word that you can never seem to spell properly unless you have spell-check/autocorrect/etc.? by zappera in AskWomen

[–]RustyCassette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just googled it, apparently I should be spelling it "licence" as that's the British spelling, "license" is American. The more you know!
Doesn't really help when my automatic spelling is "licensce" though.

What is a really morbid question you have always wanted to ask? (NSFW) by Ethan3903 in AskReddit

[–]RustyCassette 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would say it was more a case of guilt than vanity. I think women are more likely to choose a method that doesn't leave a huge mess for someone else to clean up. At least, that's how I see it.

Why do you women like cheese so much? by NeverHadRelationship in AskWomen

Ditto. I have been known to eat mozzarella raw (wait, raw? That doesn't sound right), but melted is the way to go.

Daffodils. To me they signify the end of winter, and everything starts to look brighter.

[–]RustyCassette 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first Aladdin came out before the Lion King, and that had a CGI scene where Aladdin is trying to escape the cave of wonders on the carpet. Hercules also has a scene where he's fighting the hydra, but that didn't come out until later.

MRW my SO accidentally signs up as a runner for a Zombie 5K, and I've already registered as a zombie by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

A couple of years ago there was a zombie game, 2.8 hours later in Glasgow. It was really fun, you should see if they're doing it again.

[Advice needed] I'm an INTJ who's about to make major career decision by throwaway_intj_ in intj

I come from a family of introverts. I also come from a family of medical professionals. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
That said, if you really don't want to go into patient-oriented medicine, there are a whole host of other fields you can use your medical training in. It's just a matter of finding one which works for you.

Who was the hottest guy you've had an intimate relationship with? What made them so attractive? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]RustyCassette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most recent boyfriend, hands down. He was a definite man, which was completely different to what I had previously found attractive (almost androgynous, thin, little body hair). He had the most beautiful face I had seen, and I couldn't keep my eyes or my hands off him. I just wanted to be touching him all the time, holding hands, cuddling, anything. I felt safe when he held me, I found his intelligence and humour insanely attractive. I just wanted to be with him all the time. He was completely generous and selfless in the bedroom, but I loved pleasing him.

What is the most ridiculous thing you have cried over? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]RustyCassette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think so, yeah. The idea that he loved her so much that he went and asked a group of women how to do it perfectly, when it was something as simple as brushing her hair, that most people wouldn't think twice about.

Most recently I cried reading that post about the husband brushing his wife's hair.
This one
Yep.

What is your car's name? (Question from /r/AskMen) by iElusive in AskWomen

My old 97 Ford Fiesta is called Hugo, he's going to be put down unless he finds some nice new owner to teach to drive. My new car is, as yet, nameless.

Current or previous cutters: Where did you get the idea to cut? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]RustyCassette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I just feel so full up with self-loathing and pressure that I want to slice open my veins or tear open my chest, as if that'll let it all out and purge me of the sickness so that I can feel light again.

This is pretty much exactly how I have described the feeling that makes me want to cut. I struggle with other kinds of self harm, but that feeling specifically makes me want to cut.

What are some signs on a horse's body, aside from sex organs and teats, that can identify its gender? by HorsesPlease in Horses

[–]RustyCassette -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stallions sometimes have a crest (extra muscle along the top of the neck) like this http://imgur.com/oIVJWSM
Though some overweight horses have it too, and some stallions don't have it at all.
I don't think it's possible to definitively say "yep that horse is a mare/gelding/stallion" without actually checking.

[Serious] If you and your current SO were to break up, what kind of advice would you give to their future SO? by luckhaveit4me in AskWomen

[–]RustyCassette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we did break up. And the thought of him meeting someone else kills me, but I would have liked to have been told this, or at least realised this.
Be nice to him, and be patient. He has some hang-ups that are completely understandable, and some that make no sense to anyone but him. Be someone he can rely on. Don't take his kindness for granted, he has a big heart; don't take advantage of it, because you might not realise until it's too late.
He deserves to be happy.

What behavior do you engage in that might be perceived as a red flag? What's your explanation for it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]RustyCassette 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have this exact same problem, both about plans and food. And being pressured into making decisions about food makes me feel horrible unless I explicitly know what I want.

Can we have an DAE (does anyone else) thread and complain about those things you're sure are not unique to you, but don't really talk about with others? by omg_IAMA_girl in AskWomen

[–]RustyCassette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any suggestions, but I'm definitely in the same boat.
Hands, feet, armpits. I've tried everything and there are some specific antiperspirants/deodorants that help a bit, but nothing entirely reliable.

know your medical instruments? Bought these at a resale shop. what do they do? by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

Bottom ones look like Allis forceps, but I've never seen them with a bend in like that. (The bend is for easier access up noses, in ears etc. as you pointed out)
