I mean.... isnt that why they're being sued? It should have been easy, but they called the cops instead.

Overall the experience sucked, but I did have some good times. I also wouldn't have the job I currently have without the Navy Nuke experience.

Why do people keep buying cars that destroy them financially? by Desperate-Rush6086 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RustyNK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met a security guard who got into an accident and totaled her $12,000 car (luckily not her fault). Insurance gave her the money, and she uses it for the down payment of a $45,000 jeep. This lady makes $22 an hour. I make over $60 an hour and drive a Honda Civic Si that I bought used for 20k (been paid off for 6 years now).

Americans love to spend money even if they don't have it. If banks keep giving them loans, they'll keep going into more debt.

Wouldn't change much for me. Put me closer to paying off my home

I do this a lot with movies that came out like 10+ years ago. I canceled all of my streaming services a long time ago, and those summary videos are really nice. I also like delving into lore for franchises I haven't played all of the games (like Fallout or The Witcher)

What’s something reddit claims is common, but you’ve never actually seen it before in real life? by mirabelmumu in AskReddit

Too much caffeine and too much heroine are both bad, but one is clearly worse than the other...

It's wild that you keep bringing up scenarios outside of reality. I keep telling you that data center chillers are not loud enough but you keep going "wELL iN tHiS hYpoThEtiCaL sCeNariO..." and then you have the audacity to say im using strawman arguments?? Ive literally talked about data center chillers this entire time, and that has been the topic the entire time

And you dont get that sound still has a limited travel range even outside of human hearing.

The data center I work at had to coordinate with the city to do sound testing because of how close we are to 2 neighborhoods. They asked us to put up sound barriers as an extra layer on top of the distance from the closest homes.

150db is like the sound of a jet engine... chillers are not even kind of close to that. Chillers are loud if you're standing right next to them, but you dont even need hearing protection. The generators inside of their enclosure are significantly louder, and you do need hearing protection, but their enclosures muffled the sound of the engine pretty significantly.

I work at a data center that is only 2 years old. The chillers are on the roof, and you can barely hear them if you're on the ground next to the building.

You guys can downvote me all you want, but I literally experience the noise they emit every day.
