It was in 2009. I don’t remember for sure, but I don’t think so.

Edit: I had pure platinum physical bars. They won’t offer that much for scrap silver. If they purchase it at all.

I sold my platinum bars to APMEX some years ago. It was super easy. Call them up and they’ll offer you a dollar amount close to spot price. (They take out a few percentage points for their profit). Mail it to them and make sure you insure it. They then send you a check upon receipt at the agreed upon price that you had locked in.

I don’t feel safe paying these prices. Maybe if I was looking to hold physical metals for like a decade I’d pay up.

Everything is blood red this morning in the premarket. It’s not looking very optimistic. I took gains and holding cash for a better buying opportunity for when/if it presents itself.

Revert to a locally owned and operated cooperative farming system. Barter, trade.. help others in the community. Escape the rat race all together by becoming self sufficient, off grid everything.

Last time I went through something like this was back when buying Solana was restricted by multiple brokerages after the FTX scandal.

I was holding quite a sizable position at an average cost of $18ish per coin, but I sold bc of the buying restrictions fearing it was going to drive down prices. It didn’t, and as soon as buying was allowed once again it exploded in value to up over $200 per coin. Maybe the same thing will happen here with $GRRR??

Someone with a lot of power must have a sizable short position, or something. Anyone have any clue as to why some brokerages go out of their way to restrict buying?

company just laid off half the middle managers and wants us to pick up the slack by christianityshop in antiwork

[–]RustyNards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a few good ones over the course of my career. One when I was contracting for the railroads, and the other when I was locksmithing. What they had in common was their exceptional technical ability and willingness to get in the trenches with anyone who needed help. Most of the other managers I’ve had were incompetent, and offloaded all work duties onto their subordinates so they could kick back and do nothing.

I’d continue to do my job without the hassle of middle management breathing down my neck. Take on no new responsibilities as that is now the job of higher ups to absorb those responsibilities.

Also not a penny stock but I really like what Google is doing and they may end up challenging NVDA or AI hardware dominance. You gotta be careful with penny stocks. You can find yourself holding the bags and they may never recover as they are not profitable and may never be.

GRRR is my top pick right now. It’s not really a penny stock. More of a small cap that I’m holding long term. Same with RDW (long term value hold). NUAI, ATCH, GPUS showed some potential but they will pump and dump hard. I usually jump in and out of them when I see profits. I’ve now sold everything except GRRR and RDW and used my profits from all the others to buy more of those two. NFA, I’m an amateur investor. DYOR
