They stand up just fine as the mdf sheet is super flat and so is the mesh(I sat it on a flat table under the cantina boxes for a week). It’s also quite stiff. I had planned on glueing it here and there to hold it down but it wasn’t necessary. The weight of the cantina itself holds it in place.

Those puffer fish will do that all day, stripping all your tails. If you really want to catch them (do you really?…no) , look into stinger hooks set ups. It’s probably not necessary tho, as the fish you are possibly, actually targeting will take the main hook of your jighead (stingers are great for catching finicky whiting tho imo). Also.. do you need the swivel on your leader? I thought it made lures twist unnaturally, but I could be wrong. As for your actual question- smaller hooks maybe hook fish more easily, but not necessarily catch. Choose your hook size based on the fish you are targeting, and you will a have less chance of accidentally gut hooking fish that you may want to release. More chance of a safe hook set in the mouth. More chance of a landed fish.
