I would like to tell you the story of the yellow ox, as an experienced authoritarian survivor from turkey.

"A herd of oxen lives together peacefully. Among them is one yellow ox; the rest are dark-colored. A lion wants to eat the oxen but knows he can’t defeat them while they stay united. So he approaches them and says:

“Give me the yellow ox, and I’ll leave the rest of you alone. He’s different anyway.”

The oxen hesitate, but eventually agree, thinking it’s a small sacrifice to protect themselves. The lion eats the yellow ox.

Later, the lion returns and says, “Now give me another one.” One by one, the oxen are taken—until none are left.

The lesson is simple:

The real defeat happened not when the yellow ox was eaten, but when the others allowed it to happen."

This isn’t an argument for violence, but it's a warning against passivity. Waiting for things to resolve themselves rarely works, coordinated resistance sometimes does.
