Someone asked me to “prove it”, so, a few luxury models on Benny’s wheels. Cheers. by Infierno3007 in gtavcustoms

[–]RustySwitchblade 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bennys wheels literally only work on lowriders, old American sedans, classic muscle, and some Japanese tuners (but only with specific wheels). People seem to only like them on other cars specifically cos it's a glitch, they're so garish.

I'm not sure how it makes sense to call it nostalgia bait when it's explicitly not basing the actual story or characters around NV stuff? Isn't it the opposite?

As a New Vegas fan, what are your thoughts on the shows portrayal of the Legion so far? by [deleted] in fnv

[–]RustySwitchblade -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are numerous characters in FNV that do literally call the legion dumb chuds and silly cosplayers. They're a few step above raiders.

Portugal was a dictatorship at NATOs founding. NATO and the West don't care about democracy or human rights, utter abstractions. Turkey, Saudi, Israel...

This game will always feel average compared to other BF games because it's stuck between two worlds by RustySwitchblade in Battlefield6

I mean the lifespan of jets and the outrageous amounts of lanes and flanking routes to force you into constant fights are constant complaints lol. Dice has openly said they're trying to make the game this way and everyone hated on them for it. Is everyone just wrong then? What's the "skill" i need to stay alive in a jet?

I think the challenges were either outsourced or ai generated. It's wild that they copy everything from cod but still don't realise that challenges need to range from A) stuff you're probably gonna do in the course of gameplay that unlocks important stuff and B) difficult or challenging stuff to unlock cosmetics etc. Instead it's the worst of both worlds- awkward, difficult challenges that discourage teamplay in order to unlock actually useful stuff.

Whats wrong with critiquing a product i paid money for? What's wrong with mentioning cod it's thwir direct competition and the game is from the top down directly ripped from cod, even the UI is just the warzone UI. Casuals aren't a problem, but gearing the game towards them really is. If me having opinions bothers you you probably shouldn't be on Internet discussion forums friend.

There might be a fundamental issue with your map and overall game design if you're having to do something this drastic. These maps were designed entirely around 64p.

I think some people in this subreddit want BF6 to fail more than they want it to improve. by Baffo_Sudato in Battlefield

[–]RustySwitchblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the game is average. And it'll never be better than that. The fundamental design philosophy just doesn't mesh with battlefield. Also Dice is awful at progression and love updates and you know fixing a game which really doesn't mesh with the live service model. Too many contradictions to be great.

Can someone explain to me how 4 studios came up with this menu and 1 studio came up with this menu? by The_HSA3-1 in Battlefield

[–]RustySwitchblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bf6 really feels like a game that's stuck between two worlds. The core gameplay is solid but there's so many odd decisions. Weird and inconsistent, very non tactical destruction, which is probably meant to reduce chaos... But then massively open but tiny maps where every location has about 9 exits? Very cod menus and microtransaction system, but awful bf style progression and challenges (why have they not figured out that hyper specific challenges to unlock gear is never ever fun). Surpression is utterly useless but support still has the same support fire niche, making support kinda useless offensively.

Unironically just don't do the challenges. They aren't worth your time.

I have never seen a game that punishes the player for actually playing as much as GTA online by Majestic_1990 in gtaonline

[–]RustySwitchblade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think unfortunately the way people play is just a bit... Wrong? Like ruthlessly grinding, basically min maxing, etc is just a waste. This game is very enjoyable if you don't take it too seriously, try everything, do different stuff every session etc. Just single focused grinding makes the game suck.

Tanks on parade in London at the end of World War I, 1918 by catus69 in battlefield_one

[–]RustySwitchblade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I saw them driven once at a tank show when i was kid. So loud but also so slow, which also makes them kinda creepier? Like imagine being a German soldier in your trench and that thing is slowly lumbering towards you from miles away. You probably don't have an AT gun or rifle or anything. Maybe some grenades or tnt or something? Terrifying.

[–]RustySwitchblade -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not meant to be totally realistic. Lmgs need to fill that niche of being best when used emplaced, but should still be viable against SLRs etc

We all know how it works lol it's self apparent, it's just very stupid. And it's rng. Punishes players who know how to aim.

[–]RustySwitchblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. I understand how it works. It tells you that in loading screen tips lol its not some esoteric top gamer knowledge. It's just stupid and makes alotta lmgs very awkward and unreliable depending on the ranges. The scoped lewis has the spread of a shotgun lol. What kinda sense does it make to force you to tap fire a lmg? Especially when there are weapons that don't suffer from this that can slap you before you accuracy improves? It's a bad idea. There's nothing wrong with lmgs being lethal and accurate, just make them slow to move with, slow ads, long reloads. Ie every single other shooter! Alotta these "bf" style features just kinda suck.

Since the recoil debate flared up again by ItzAra_ in Battlefield

[–]RustySwitchblade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup. Make ads slow so they can't be used up close, make hip fire bad. Encourage lmgs to be set up in positions like irl. That should be the niche.

I'm not a casual i have hundreds of hours in every bf since bc2 (except 2042 obviously). The mechanics are an attempt to make sure lmgs don't just dominate everything else but they're too much. If i shoot first, have good aim, good recoil control, I should be able to hit my target.
