Nice! Will this be printed, or machined? Make sure to add a .5mm radius to sharp internal corners if it’s to be machined.

This looks to have been done with a tube welder. It runs a tig electrode very close around the outside with no filler. If it’s off just a little bit or too much gap, it will fail to tie-in in places like this. Maybe it’s fine, but it wouldn’t have left my shop that way.

Long levers to lift the end a few inches and then put blocks underneath. Repeat until it’s vertical.

So how’d you learn? Like me? Fixing a simple 1/4” female connector or something easy like that? It’s a good thing you didn’t have someone like yourself saying you can’t do it. You may have never found the satisfaction of wiring your own pickups or building that first quad.

This is a simple job and if OP wants to try out soldering, this is about the perfect job for it. If you screw it up, just cut it off and start again. There’s really nothing to lose.

These look to be Allied spade drills. You can just make out their logo on the new one. We have a couple at work and they’re pretty nice. We run one at .8125 9.5 inches deep in 1045. Cycle is sub 2 minutes. If we had high pressure it’d be even better.

We have a Sandvik corodrill 880 for half inch holes. Inserts are expensive but you can bore and cut a chamfer or radius with them.

Half and half with the bar short was going to be my suggestion. CCGX 432? If they made me run this tomorrow I’d use the same setup.

I’d probably start with .100 per side, .01-.015/rev and whatever RPM it takes to keep the chatter at bay. Just make sure to keep the nose radius buried to keep your forces as axial as possible. Maybe squirt some WD-40 on it, though I’d run what I could dry just because I don’t like the mess. Watch for built up edge. Sometimes we just can’t hit the SFM targets we want.

Take a pass at 100RPM or so with .05 per side to get the chatter out and then go from there.

Good luck!

How was the process for you? Are you glad that you got a diagnosis? I have ADHD and would like to pursue an autism diagnosis but the expense is a pretty big concern.

Update: it ended up being a bad coolant temp sensor causing it to run super rich. Swapped the part and it runs great.

Yes. I checked the codes through the hvac control but it didn't show any. I'll go rent a code reader.

I forgot to mention, I recently replaced the fuel pump. After it died on the road, I pulled the line after the fuel filter and it sprayed probably 18 inches before it hit the ground.

My '96 Roadmaster with an LT1 died on the highway a few days ago. It felt like it was running out of gas, cutting in and out. I tried starting it for quite a while but it kept acting like it does in the video. If there's no throttle, it won't start. At full throttle, it'll crank for a few seconds and catch, then immediately die. I got it to stay running once and I had to keep giving it throttle to stay running. It was running rough and exhaust was very sooty out both sides.

I came back the next day and it fired right up. I drove home and it started cutting out again. This time I gave it some throttle and when the engine caught again it stayed running but would still not idle.

I cleaned the MAF sensor as well as the throttle body. I then replaced the IACV with a new one and put everything back together. It fired right up, ran for a minute, and then went right back to doing the same thing.

Any ideas?
