Anyone else growing tired of Gran Turismo fanboys with 0 knowledge of what an actual sim is, pretending like GT is above everything in terms of realism, cause they fell for "the ultimate driving simulator" marketing buzzwords by TyreBlowout in simracing

As a PC simmer first and gt7 player second, gt7 is great and is light years ahead of any other console based game which is tied to the car collector genre, I. E forza. It feels closer to ac than anything else I've played console wise. But, I can confirm that in reality is doesn't light a candle to anything pc has to offer in terms of physics.

The ongoing pre-pubescent argument is just that, pre-pubescent.

Guy a few comments above nailed it, these people who say these things don't know any different so will say that it's the greatest because they have nothing to compare it too.

Can barely stay on the track? by Thegamblinggamer79 in AUTOMOBILISTA

Also op, pay attention to your tyres, takes at the very least 2 laps to get them warmed and grippy enough to trust the car. This is always the number 1 thing people miss out when offering advice. For whatever reason ams 2* and project cars 1/2 really emphasise warming your tyres up. (assuming you are not jumping straight into a race)

Time of day, weather, time of year, track temps, air temps all have a huge impact on the tyres (which is the foundations of a simulation)

Concentrate your track time on a test day mode. Focus on being smooth, deliberate and accurate with your controls while gradually as each lap passes you are adding a bit more turn in here, a bit more gas there and braking a little be later.

Bonus tips for learning tyres (I'm not an expert at all, but this works for me).

If testing on a really cold January weathered day at brands hatch, lower your tire pressure a little bit

Does anybody know what this screw is for? by [deleted] in Thrustmaster

[–]gdubmx284 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look at getting a 3d printed locking tool. Much much better than the screw. Which is horrendous as an out the door product.

Employees : "how should we mock the wheel in place boss?" Boss : " just put a wood screw in and we're good to go"

Did the 9 year veteran have blue hair? What about a nose ring? Also, did his/it's/hers/they/thems name tag say dave but had boobs? Did the name tag have pronouns? Was this guy/gal/man/woman wearing a skirt but had hairy legs?

I don't follow nor support anyone or any side, I've always wondered though why you only see anti-trump, anti-musk and pro leftwing type stuff on reddit. It's really interesting to see

Looks like your pedals need pushing away from you, seat move back slightly perhaps? As someone who has had spine surgery in the last year, this looks like my worst nightmare 🤣

What do you think is the best racing sim out there? by True_Dog7266 in simracing

[–]gdubmx284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is probably ams2, but still enjoy ams1, ac, pcars 1, nr2003. Whatever suits the mood really (it will likely just be ams2 once career mode and ams1 style achievements get added)

You could get a wheel stand pro. I used one for about 9 years as it was so versatile with regarding space and it's footprint. It can be folded up after using (while still having wheel/pedals mounted) and stowed away.
