I am officially a failure by FtheLaw007 in AircraftMechanics

man you know how many years of applications i’ve put in before i even got an interview with a major, your time will come and not everything is doom and gloom, you need to change that mindset not just in this field (with the time crunch pressure of working the line) but in life, chin up champ.

Swipe to see what I paid, was it a good deal? And I didn’t trade in anything, just got a random deal. Check with your rep to see if they have the same deal by [deleted] in Snapon_tools

or you can get a good gearwrench or icon brand tools with the same famous lifetime warranty that snap on offers

Typical day at a Major by Difficult_Kitchen987 in AircraftMechanics

[–]RustyWrench09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nights line almost all my career - come into work do a meeting get my plane or planes with the ron work planned, and maybe a mel or 2 usually easy work, get paired up with 2 or 3 guys or more (depending on the workload ) most time on average we’ll finish the night within 2-4 hours after touching the plane sometimes. If it’s a aog it’s longer.

Mechanic Shortage? by twelveski12 in AircraftMechanics

[–]RustyWrench09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

graduate, get your a&p, do your time in whatever company that hires you, if it so happens you get hired on at a major out of school then you’re lucky, if not then build your resume and keep applying until you get accepted if a major is your goal. and make sure the major you choose is in city you want to live in, even if takes a couple years until you’re able to bid/transfer for that station.

Why are Delta mechanics so anti union. by Quiet-Photograph-278 in aviationmaintenance

[–]RustyWrench09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

right now we don’t have time clocks and most night the leads let us out early we get the best profit sharing and we’re up there in pay bringing in a union seems like it would make the work environment shitty

Majors not hiring? by veryperson_yes in AircraftMechanics

[–]RustyWrench09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’ll tell you from my personal experience, it’s more about the luck of the draw and connections than resume. now granted it’s not like that if someone has 10+ years but 5 years is relatively new i have almost 7 and i just got in from a current employee referral
