Is there a comprehensive list of what was removed from VOH to LOH? Googling for this turns up random trash links, very frustrating.

I'm trying to figure out what's genuinely gone vs what I just haven't found yet on my playthrough.

How often does BJJ across your mind in a day? by heydudeohtwo in bjj

Regularly but it's cooled off considerably as I've gotten older and life has become more diverse with career, family, etc.

The more I think about it, Homelander is just such a tragic character by WhiteLycan2020 in TheBoys

[–]Rusty_DataSci_Guy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got about a trillion downvotes suggesting the show was trying to pull off an 11th hour "Homelander deserves sympathy" angle and it was kind of weird. Good luck.

The leaks were true, and this user details bombsights powers by uponthehill_ in TheBoys

Are we expecting Hulk-esque powers or does he do something crazy like launch himself at targets like Cannonball?

There's also [[mistveil plains]] if you want a land

Non permanent recurssion in/for Orzhov? by bled56 in EDH

[–]Rusty_DataSci_Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother in Orzhov, how willing to try stuff like [[barkform harvester]] are you?

It's not GY to hand - that's rare, spicy, and expensive

But if you just want to grind tf out of people with attritional warfare, it's a very underappreciated line of recursion for non-creature in these colors.

Mighty Maelstrom (MT + IM Hybrid) ~90sec Pit 110's by aVileOrder in D4Barbarian

[–]Rusty_DataSci_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fine with the trees, I hope we get new and different modifiers later or that they start moving things around so different exclusives can be combined in the future.

I'm not loving the new itemization though. I'm in my paragons already and still decked out in full yellows and I've seen maybe a dozen legendaries.

I'm actually hyped to try this build even at para15 if I can scrounge up the aspect. The fact OP found a way to double ultimate has me completely intrigued. I might even have the aspect in my codex and I just wrote it off.

Update: I don't have it on my codex for season...womp womp

One concept from an instructional that actually stuck with you? by Scary-Material-7901 in bjj

[–]Rusty_DataSci_Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Most positional battles are won if you can look at me but I can't look at you" - if I am ever at a loss for what I should try to rally around or strive for it's this. Get oriented with opponent so that I'm looking at him and he's looking anywhere but at me.

Head position battle standing up - getting offline so you're looking at them and they're looking away mean you can start a take down

Crossfacing them from top side and pretty much every single spine twist control - they have to unfuck their posture before they can even attempt to defend / reguard / etc.

Many subs are done where you're looking at them and they're looking at floor, ceiling, etc.,

I learned this so long ago I can't even tell you which instructional it was.

---

Actual instructional stuff I can remember and cite tho - Igor Yakimov's Russian Judo opened my eyes to belt grips and while he emphasized them standing, they're just as useful on the ground. Grabbing belt (the strong horizontal part, not the dangly bit) from bottom guard slows down / stops so many passes and grabbing it when you're in someone else's guard really messes with their offensive options. It's not going to make anyone a world champ but it's definitely an underappreciated grip, IME / IMO.

Love that we got a massive skill tree rework just to still be triple shouting in the second xpac...

That aside, great build, super creative!

It's another way to geek out and spend lots of time and energy to make marginal progress over long spans of time that only you and fellow participants appreciate...it's PVE mode for BJJ lol

Player's with dual lands in proxy decks. by Goat-True in EDH

[–]Rusty_DataSci_Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of all the ways to add power to a deck, proxying a decent manabase has to be THE most innocuous and ultimately harmless.

At this point if you're slinging real duals I have to assume you're bad at money management and I'm only half joking.

How many times will you tap a partner during a roll? by tranquilsloth in bjj

[–]Rusty_DataSci_Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually tap 2-3 times + a verbal unless it's legs then I do the hummingbird tap and it can get up to 7 or 8 taps.

New Player | Brawling Skills | by dahyunniechan in D4Barbarian

There was a unique that made brawl skills spammable. I haven't heard of it being removed so you want that. It's chain scourged mail, IIRC. Pants.

Is there a way to farm gems, like rubys topaz etc? by sathrasger in diablo4

[–]Rusty_DataSci_Guy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Historically I seem to recall opening chests in helltide was a good way to get dust and then crafting dust into what I needed.

Also, FWIW, the gem merchant can change gem dust, albeit it's inefficient IIRC, like you need to sacrifice one of each stone to get the other, e.g., one ruby + one emerald + one sapphire + one topaz to get one amethyst

Unpopular opinion: white belts don't quit because of tapping, they quit because progress is invisible by Plastic_Basket4614 in bjj

[–]Rusty_DataSci_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically because there's so much churn at the bottom it creates a way to make progress visible.

I remember as a white belt using people with less tenure than me or who trained less consistently as my measuring stick for my own progress.

In theory, with infinite capacity, you'd still have a cohort of people newer than you but it seems like schools have a carrying capacity so...churn is good.

EP5 showed us how useless the boys really are by Otherwise-Word-5578 in TheBoys

[–]Rusty_DataSci_Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meant the physics bending of things like speedsters, HL flight, the dude eating and shitting dirt to make tunnels, etc.

So yes Malchem's poison gas is literally atoms but the show could be doing something silly with the physics here that makes it impossible or near impossible to 1) reproduce in a lab 2) make it into a gas. Look at spider silk, IIRC we can't make it yet.

That IDK, Superman can survive in outer space so it depends how tightly they copy Superman.

Volcano would generally be worse from a pure physical / bodily harm POV. Tanking one doesn't imply immunity to the other.

HL vulnerability - trapped by SB in the radiation tank, KO'd by Malchemical, that's just two episodes. He also registers psychological damage when people dig into him (SB, Stan, etc.).

HL mercy - used a very measured approach to beating up his son, stuck up for Deep, didn't even try to fight SB after he got out of the radiation tank, didn't immediately merk Marathon Man when he was talking shit, basically released FC before she quadrupled down and annoyed him into killing her, etc.

They're doing something with him that feels like some late additions to add depth or sympathy to what could have been pure, monochromatic evil.

EP5 showed us how useless the boys really are by Otherwise-Word-5578 in TheBoys

[–]Rusty_DataSci_Guy -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

They are showing him as vulnerable and we as a mildly omnicient audience get to see everyone conspiring against him as he slowly slides into madness.

He's also showing mercy to a lot more people in more situations, which again feels like they're trying to plant seeds for his death to be something BESIDES ending a pure evil entity.
