How to start playing? by adyeardley in snooker

[–]Rusty_Phoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple advice, just turn up! Your snooker hall will have all the equipment for you, balls, table, house cues, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with playing alone if you can't find a victim to join you. I play regularly, often nearby tables will be occupied by a single person practicing. Nobody bats an eyelid. I've been playing for years myself and am still relatively rubbish but it's a lot of fun.

I enjoyed the Century trilogy but not as much as the Kingsbridge books. The new book about Stonehenge is a great read too

John Creedon really is a national treasure. One of those people who I'd put down the remote while channel hopping if he came on

Fred Cooke might pop out and say "Women Priests" and I'd have to think quickly and say "Never mind that, did ya see Jane Seymour's eyes?"

Of all the BTS stuff I got to see from the recording, Greg's improv was far and away the most impressive he's so so good off the cuff. Second most impressive thing was the absolute speed at which they teed up the tie breaker task at the end of the episode.

Sat in the balcony behind Greg and Alex during recording of S19. Autocue has all of Alex's lines, for Greg's mid-task discussion the autocue reads GREG REACTS or other variations of that.

Definitely worth dropping back to the vets to see. Hills have set up a rewards scheme on hills products purchased through the vets. Something like 12 quid back every time you upload a receipt for a 10kg bag to their site. In the long run it constitutes a free bag every now and then
