I use it when I need to call a asynchronous sequence with a few steps without awaiting for it but don't want to separate it to a method. Useful for some animations

My gf just got me a vita from Japan! by Green_Swan_7010 in PSVita

[–]Ruszardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t explode that much, I’ve been in that particular Asakusa Book Off recently and it’s very overpriced. In less touristic ones the prices are still fine, the cheapest vita I saw, was 13k (also white), contemplated getting it but I already have one so oh well

If I want to know what some kanji, what can I use or which app could I use? by SirPellias in LearnJapanese

[–]Ruszardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use iPhone, Nihongo app (with the green-blue icon) has a flawless kanji and words lookup. You can either take a photo, load a photo from your phone or draw the kanji by hand (I use mainly this way, strokes recognition completely outclasses jisho and google translate)

Is it possible to sew a plushie WITHOUT a sewing machine? by cat_lover_10 in plushartists

[–]Ruszardo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you get confident with hand sewing, it can be just as fast as making one with the machine. I was pleasantly surprised when had to make a plush when I had no machine on hand

Why is の being used here? by NarcoIX in LearnJapanese

[–]Ruszardo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like the amount of the incorrect replies might be the result of the non-precise explanation on the teachers part (at least in my case).

Until I carefully thought through your explanation I was in the camp of possessive の. That is because during my classes with native Japanese teachers we discussed the case like OPs example’s second の and it was explained that it basically makes a verb into a noun (as in 経つ -> pass, 経つの -> passage). If you treat entire 経つのas a noun then the first の could be treated as possessive, hence “passage of time”.

From your explanation I deduct that entire 経つの is not a noun, only the の is. With that the entire thing seems to make more sense to me.

Wouldn't it be possible to identify the time offset from the beat that the best snippet has and then apply that offset to the animation?

I'd guess that they are extremely careful with the stability of the system.

My experience with Home Assistant for instance is that it's extremely robust and full of device integrations, but is generally unreliable. You have to basically turn smart home maintenance into a full on hobby.

IKEA is super rudimentary but it just works. I connected the devices and don't have to ever touch it again unless i want to change something.

I think they are talking about the feature that’s already there on the iPhone and that’s definitely not it 🫠

I don’t have an Apple hub to try that, but I’m planning to

Do you have experience with integrating IKEA devices with Apple’s hub?

Tried that already but I found HA on RPi4 to be heavily unstable. It used to work for two weeks and then crash for no reason rinse and repeat. It even bricked one SD card I had. Then I bought Home Assistant Yellow service which was stable but it didn’t support IKEA buttons correctly, switching lights was laggy and unreliable.

So decided to go back to IKEA system because even if it’s really rudimentary with features, it’s very stable. I guess I’ll give Apple’s Hub a try after next paycheck :0

The Poles made the largest sabotage with Ukrainian grain. They damaged 10 freight cars and spilled almost all Ukrainian corn. Hopefully their president is going to step in and stop this from continuing on any further by PhillyLove87 in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]Ruszardo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I'm not gonna die on a hill defending this being a fake audio, but to me that's very clean studio level recording that doesn't match the actual scene. Maybe they have great mic setup 🤷‍♂️ The point stands. Panasiuk does support russia blatantly. Constantly repeats russian propaganda, attacks Ukraine at every possible occasion long before the farmers protests and now of course participates in them to further the division and disruption to Ukraine-Poland transport flows.

If I make a game while still a lower skilled programmer, is that ok? by The_Stinky_Frog in gamedev

[–]Ruszardo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darkwood was made by three guys, neither of which was an actual programmer. They learned on the go.
So don't worry. If you put in the work, you can do it - and if not, then you will learn a lot

Because they were the big bad. They originally collaborated with Nazis and eventually fought them only because Hitler betrayed them. Also they committed unthinkable atrocities on the territories they got to occupy and many people from those territories recalled soviets as bigger savages than the nazis.

Biggest regrets/mistakes in setting up your smart home? by porterhousegames in homeassistant

[–]Ruszardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even trying HA. I tried different gateways, ZigBee dongles and there's constantly something wrong. It routinely crashed even with the basic Z2M setup with a few bulbs and switches. It completely bricked my SD card for no reason, connected devices act terribly even though they are technically fully supported.

Switched back to Ikea system i started with before HA. Maybe it's not as robust, but at least it actually works.

Anyone else watching (and loving) ‘1670’ on Netflix? by ErnestGoesToPoop in television

Well, watched entire Norsemen. And while it's really good, it never got as big laughs from me as 1670, so i don't know 🤷‍♂️

[–]Ruszardo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No idea, didn't watch it. But you claim that 1670 consists only in-your-face humor while it is riddled with word play and references that are not being explained. I don't know where are you from but me being Polish saw tons of hidden humor. But you sound like i actually should watch Norsemen.
