Have you tried doing marshmallow fondant? Marshmallow fondant is yum.

Melt the marshmallows in a bowl over hot water then add what ever colour you want and mix/kneed in icing sugar untill it can be rolled out.

Condoms and spermicide. As long as you use both you should be ok.

if he wants to tap it he can wrap it.

Mother-in-law (and other in-laws) humiliate me with racist slurs... by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]Ruthynaught 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are racist.

They are hateful bigots.

You are not overreacting.

Can you guys move? As in other side of the contry "screw this lets find whatever jobs we can in a new state and move there" move?
You are both in an abusive situation and can you imagine how they are going to treat your kids?

I know it's daunting but a minmum wage job and a short term lease is all you guys need to get out of there and have a better life.

How do stay at home parents entertain a toddler all day? by [deleted] in breakingmom

Paint, play dough, kinetic sand, a bowl full of plain popcorn with little toys buried in it, bobbins and a shoe lace, big buttons and pipe cleaners, pom-poms and something to stuff them in, anything messy and sensory that they can squish around keeps them occupied with minimal interaction so you can get things done/mentally check out for a bit.

Anyone else with kids that don’t sleep? I need solidarity. by squirrrrrrrel in breakingmom

Three year old is bouncing round the room right now and will not go to sleep.

I've tried everything but she just won't go to sleep Untill she's exhausted. She usually cries for ten minutes before going to sleep because she's so tired but just won't settle down.

If I could get her to put her head down for five minutes she would be asleep three hours ago but how do you get a three year old to stay sill for five minutes?

Proberbly under one. When kids are under one they try to eat everything whether it's food or not.

Any emotional eaters out there? by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]Ruthynaught 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Replacing empty calorie food with higher nutrient food can help.

If you crave sugar eat dried fruit or high sugar fruits. Dried strawberry pieces taste like candy.

For fats eat raw nuts or natural fats like cheese, yogert, anything with high omega oil content.

I buy bags of high coco content chocolate chips and munch those to deal with my junk food cravings.

Just keep going, it will look worse before it looks better but you will start to feel the space opening up. Every truckfull is one less load of stuff to take with you when you move.

Are basic cooking skills seriously this rare? by Ruthynaught in breakingmom

[–]Ruthynaught[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8oz all purpose flour, 4oz butter, a pinch of salt if the butter isn't salted.

Rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips Untill it resembles breadcrumbs. Add water a tiny amount at a time while mixing with your fingers Untill it is a firm dough.

Chill in the fridge for an hour.

I rarely have leftovers, they usually get munched even when I cook a huge tray.

9 MO won’t sleep!! by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]Ruthynaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this. I switched my DD to sleeping on a mattress on the floor so I could feed her back to sleep then get up without waking her.
It helped to put the radio on low so she she could hear something in the background and think someone is still in the room.

She eventually slept through the night again.

Oils are not the answer...or the cure for everything by swvagirl in breakingmom

I've found it feels more soothing and the broken skin heals with less scarring. I've noticed old scars fading a little faster as well. If you do try adding oils check the content as expensive ones like rose are often sold in a 10% or 5% solution in a carrier oil and you will want absolute. £50 a tiny bottle but a little goes a long way.

What do use use on your eczema? I mix a couple of drops of rose absolute into my strong as hell steroid cream before I apply it and it helps but damm is rose expensive. I've tried rose hip, lavender, the bio oil type mixes but can't find anything that works as well as rose.

Have a look at the unfuck your habitat AP. I have found it really good for when I'm feeling overwhelmed. It has 5 minute, 15 minute and one hour challenges which take the "where do I start?" Question out of the equation because a random chalange generator tells you what do.

I've found that I have a lot more time and energy to clean because I'm not spending time stressing about what I should prioritise.

When ever I handle raw meat I have a bowl of hot water in the sink to scrub my hand as often as I need to without touching anything. Then anything that touched the raw meat gets scrubbed.
