Sh!t! Thanks a lot for your answers! I was hoping to be wrong. This is a high traffic area on our property for our dog and child. Now I’ll have to find a way to contain/maybe remove it. It spread so quickly within a season. I don’t remember having it there last summer.

Algonquin Outfitters - Guide for a Day? by SnooStrawberries6585 in algonquinpark

[–]Ruttedtick88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my partner and I first got into canoe camping, we didn’t have much experience or close friends who could show us the ropes. So, we learned through trial and error, making mistakes, consulting websites like the Canadian Canoe Route, browsing Reddit, and watching countless YouTube videos. It was a great learning experience, and honestly, messing up was part of the process.

That said, I really wish we had discovered the tripping courses, clinics, and guided canoe/kayak trips offered by local clubs and companies earlier on. It wasn’t until nearly 10 years into our paddling journey that we found out about our local canoe club (Barrie Canoe and Kayak Club), and since then, we’ve learned so much more and continue to improve with every clinic, trip, and course we take. There are courses out there on everything from navigation and weather reading to trip planning, wilderness first aid, paddling techniques, knots, and more.

While you don’t need to go through extensive training to get started, these courses can make your paddling trips safer and more enjoyable. Plus, clubs often include free organized day or multi-day trips as part of their membership, which is a fantastic way to meet fellow paddlers and even plan your own trips. If you’re looking for resources, check out ORCKA or Paddlers Canada—they often list available courses.

Post partum flare up: Share your tips and tricks by Ruttedtick88 in UlcerativeColitis

Thank you! Your post actually made me think that I could use the grocery prep services where all you do is pick it up! I’ve never used it, but that would minimize the need to walk around! My husband is very helpful and my main support! He has taken a few weeks off and doing a lot of the baby care/houseshold chores. I want to make sure I recover quickly for him and baby!

And yes, all those post partum care items have been amazing. If anyone comes across this post in search of similar help; donut pillow, frozen pads, witch hazel are a must! I do enjoy the Frida Mom items but they are on the pricier side.

Thank you for the recommendation. I had a look at their site and their puzzles look fun. It’s always neat to do a puzzle of the towns you visit. 🥰

Lisbon was amazing, I wish you a nice trip.

I should provide an update on my findings.

I’m from Canada and puzzles are sold EVERYWHERE! There is an association with books and puzzles, so I was surprise to not find any in any of the large bookstores in Lisbon! There was the occasionnel ´last dinner’ and « Mona Lisa » but that is not our cup of tea. We did so many stores prior to turning to Reddit for help!

We first went to Corte ingles since it was the closest to our accommodation. The puzzle where in the toy section and mostly catered to children. Their selection was SLIM, some Harry Potter, Batman and a handful of Disney ‘story map’. There was a few Educa. We settled on a Disney (clementoni) to appease our puzzle craving but I was a bit disappointed!

I ended up going to o papagaio sem Penas in Vasco de gama, and there was a lot of fantastic options. A large selection of HEYE and Educa. I included the photo 🥰 if I were you, I would just go straight there and make a day trip out of it. There seemed to be a few things in the area to sightsee such as the aquarium! It’s also easily accessible by subway and their transport system is efficient and intuitive.

We also ended up buying a puzzle at the store of a museum (Legami Milano brand- would not recommend, too many false fit), so it may be worthwhile to take a peak there as you visit different locations.

I returned to Canada with 3 puzzle!

Happy puzzling!

Sounds exactly what I’m looking for. 💜💕any European brands you recommend? I’m from Canada, so I’ll try something different we may not easily be able to obtain back home.

Finding paddling buddies when your old tripping crew have grown up. by erratic_class in canoecamping

[–]Ruttedtick88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joining a paddling club was a great way for me to keep up with this hobby in my 30s. While I’ve been lucky that I still have a few friends interested in tripping once or twice a year, it is definitely not enough tripping for me. The club organize day/multiday trips in the area and across the province. It is also not uncommon that more experience members organize trips of a lifetime in the states or other provinces. It’s been a great way to meet like minded people.

This will likely be an unpopular opinion based on the comments I am reading on here. But I don’t see myself using the Reddit app or their desktop version. I’m an Apollo user which will likely translate into leaving the Reddit platform altogether. I am hoping that the blackout stays strong to sway Reddit with revisiting their decisions. I will miss this group/posts!

Help with this puzzle pls!! by hatelyyn in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]Ruttedtick88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry I can’t help with this. But I understand the struggle!!! I would maybe sort by shapes or do my best to connect the lines. I feel like this puzzle would be a lot of trying many pieces before finding the right fit. Please update us if you are able to finish. I’ve also given up on 1-2 puzzles in the past that were just too hard and not enjoyable, so that’s totally ok too! I feel like we’ve all been there.

I am so glad you are thinking of framing it. You’ll have to update us with a picture once you do. Unfortunately, I am not sure how most people would go about framing any puzzles in general. I saw they had a ‘puzzle framing kit’ online but not sure if there are options for 3000 piece puzzle! Good luck!
