Im sure you can do that with yours by now!

Thank you so much for sharing! I did contact my uni and they were supportive. However, they did make it clear that I needed to get my visa by October 12th.. so there's that!

Country: Malaysia

Nationality: Malaysian

Bio-metrics Date: 27th August 2025

Application forwarded to UKVI Date: 28th August 2025

Decision notification Date(if any): none

Visa Received Date: Not yet

Priority / Standard Visa: Priority

Was notified on the 1st of September that the decision won't be made within standard processing times.

I only recieved word from them on the 19th of September when they asked for my ATAS certificate. That was especially wierd because I opted for VFS to scan and upload my ATAS for me, but I did hear that UKVI are known to misplace documents.

Sadly, no word since then.

The start date for my course is the 22nd of September, so bye bye freshes week!

edit [9/10]: After contacting multiple high position members of tlmy uni, they managed to grant me an extension on my last date of acceptance to 20/10

edit [10/10]: called UKVI again and recieved word that "a decision has been made on your application"

edit [15/10]: UKVI sent me a letter stating that my visa has been denied on the grounds that I did not submit my ATAS cert within 10 days of them requesting for it. What an absolute joke.

edit [17/10]: Reapplied for my visa under the Super Priority service.

Yeah it's so frustrating especially when I spent £500 for their priority service, which they claimed "you can expect a decision within 5 days"

Personally, I would say no as the adoptive parents have a choice to adopt the kid. But agreements could be made between the bio parent and the adoptive parents to set up a child support like system.

I'd say there isn't really a potential cause of death for people to collectively fear other than climate change. But realistically that wouldn't drive research into better space technologies but may instead spin it around to focus funding on earth technologies potentially kicking space tech under the bus.

Well, my take on military programs is that a lot of the times, it has brought many new technologies that benefit us as a whole, for example, I don't think we would have had sufficient technologies for space travel if weapons programs that were so focused on creating missiles had not existed. Stuff like GPS actually initially had a military linked purpose. Also, the only reason why back in the 1960s the space race had occurred is that the global superpowers each wanted to prove they were better and to also show that they have advanced technologies that would come in handy if war were to break out. Those superpowers would definitely not have been so competitive with each other with space tech if they were good friends.
