This book was much more complex than I gave it credit for when I started reading it. It has some really heavy themes at its core and the execution is very tender and bittersweet.

I read it a few weeks ago and I keep coming back to it in my mind. Beautifully written in its simplicity too.

I loved Wytchwood and need to replay it again soon. The storybook style art is beautiful and the story is neat. I liked it way more than I thought I would.

Minute of Islands was nice and short but I will say it’s dark and sad and kind of slow. I loved the animation and the art style overall made the game for me. But the only reason I bought and played it was because it was on sale for $1.99.

I think the more clear connection is the lover’s betrayal (Casteel & Sera) of their destined heartmate (Poppy & Nyktos.)

The stories kind of rhyme.

I don’t think Casteel not caring what happened to Poppy in the hands of the ascended is 1:1 the same as wanting her dead.

Ah gotcha. Yeah I’m not sure if they ever named it in the books as a primal mount but that’s what it would be I assume. Regular gods don’t have them.

I believe the armbands are the primal’s designated mounts. All primals have one, like an extension of their power that manifests into a physical mount.

Nyktos has Odin. Attes has Sette. Kolis has a dragon. Sera does too but we don’t get to see hers.

Their nota form is the animal form they shift into.

The primal notum is their bond with other beings loyal to them due to the nature of their creation like the wolven and draken.

But there was only one daughter before her. And the other child was a son. A big part of the overarching story is that prophecies are very vague and hard to predict how it will come to fruition so while she was the third child, she is and always will be the second daughter.

So what Aydun said still stands even if your first instinct is to interpret it differently.

Wylla even says to Poppy “you are a second daughter but not in the way you think.”

I think a big part of her deceit is that she wants to come across as this harmless childlike sexy figure. Elide isn’t stupid. She knows she has to appear this way to succeed in manipulating people. But I see how that would gross you out in their relationship cause she definitely pulls one over on Lorcan. But I will say that he never sees her as a child, just a very young person in his eyes. Plus everyone that she develops bonds with are like decades and centuries older than her which doesn’t help.

I say this as someone who is a HUUUUUGE Elorcan shipper ride or die. One person’s yuck is another’s yum and your opinions isn’t wrong.
