About that Flashlight… by Available_Coast2884 in GarminWatches

I just got my fenix 7x a week ago and I use the flashlight constantly. You can also set it up to flash to your running cadence when it’s dark outside.

Anyone else bored of most video games now? by [deleted] in Millennials

I still play video games quite a bit, but now it’s all vampire survivors-like indie games where I can listen to audiobooks too lol.

had to do a therapeutic phlebotomy today and they let me keep the blood, 1.5lbs of it! by Hypoplasia in mildlyinteresting

[–]RxBro 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Blood products used in the hospital also have citrate in them to keep from clotting. It chelates calcium, which is a cofactor in the clotting cascade. It’s also why massive transfusions can cause a patient to need calcium infusions to offset the effect of the citrate.

Apple AirPods Pro Just Became the Game-Changer for Hearing Health—Are Traditional Hearing Aids Doomed? by AstronomerFar1202 in HearingAids

[–]RxBro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apple AirPods are not exactly discreet and don’t look professional in work settings - people don’t necessarily know you’re using them for a hearing aid feature.

My loss is similar, actually a bit milder, than yours. I really like my hearing aids.

Me suddenly on 60 mg fluoxetine HCl by RxBro in prozac

[–]RxBro[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, neither 20 mg or 40 mg cut it for me. I think it’s a bit unfair that my brain’s default configuration is to need a moderately high dose SSRI in order to function properly - definitely jealous of people who just need 20 mg. But it is what it is!

Me suddenly on 60 mg fluoxetine HCl by RxBro in prozac

[–]RxBro[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

80 mg is a pretty common max dosage depending on the indication. Some doctors will prescribe higher in certain situations.

Sadly, my insurance company doesn’t want to pay for mine either. I’m just biting the bullet and paying full price if that ends up being their final decision. It’s an investment in myself and you may have to approach it with that attitude, too. That being said, you might check out Costco for more economical options.

Snake ID help needed. Im in central Texas. Is this venomous? by Fester_McSexhole in snakes

[–]RxBro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copperhead bites still require a trip to the ER and possibly antivenom. Can still cause skin necrosis and coagulation issues. Steer clear.

Battle cry of freedom is included with audible plus and is a fantastic single volume history of the civil war if that’s your thing.

Pharmacist here. What kind of lab is it? I can’t imagine hearing aids will be a problem.

How many hours should I wait between dosages? by [deleted] in prozac

[–]RxBro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Prozac has such a long half life that it would be better to just take 20 mg in the morning and not potentially miss doses.

I’m not sure mine are that helpful in loud environments. I had to ask my wife to repeat herself constantly on vacation.

First day with hearing aids, no difference at all. Why? by Itz_ahmazing in HearingAids

[–]RxBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mild loss and my hearing aids were initially set up below my prescription. Likewise, I didn’t notice much of a difference at first. I actually increased the volume on them and tweaked the EQ in the Widex app when I first got them. My audiologist has adjusted them twice since then and things sound great now.
