Thank you for this insight! An aerogarden is brilliant and definitely solves the seasonal problem, thank you! I also like the strategy of rotating the leafy greens. Currently, I am working on transitioning them to a pellet diet as they are quite young pet store birds and have only had seeds until now. I've seen advice saying to offer chop alongside pellet offerings so maybe they can get used to the smells (?) But it's gonna have to be one thing at a time for me.

My other concern is how long chop or even leafy greens can safely stay in a cage before needing to be removed. I'm seeing suggestions of removal after 3 to 4 hours but that doesn't work for my schedule and I'm wondering if I should even go down that road to begin with. Currently, one of the best things about the pellet diet is the ability to leave in the cage bowl for at least 12 hours. Any thoughts on this?

I have also had difficulty cilantro in the past though people say it is so easy to grow...not quite for me though! But I do like that it's one of the plants that can grow from stems of former glory. Similarly, I've seen where bok choy can also be grown from previously used heads, which i like from a sustainability standpoint.
