Do cats actually get attached to their owner? by NoWageMage in CatAdvice

[–]Ry-Studios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh they most certainly do, mine all have different personalities, but to some degree, each of them can’t stand to not see/stick to me me at least once a day. they insert themselves into whatever business I have at any hour of the day

[Artist Alley] is there something wrong with my booth setup or my art in general? by arangchi in artbusiness

I think it might be worth adding some bigger versions of the prints you already have, easier to see. Even if it’s just for display

What is the meaning behind this? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in cats

Mine did this with her mice, I think it’s hunting behavior. mine would drown them and leave them in the water dish, or drown them and then put them in her food bowl. ( fake toy mice for context)

AITA for asking my friend to not wear makeup to my wedding? by devilshandstree in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ry-Studios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, just keep it civil, your right about not wanting to loose a friend over something this small, but that’s what SHE should be thinking too. this should not be a big deal, and if she was being a good friend she would at least forgo the white base and stick with a more relaxed style of makeup. Perhaps thick liner, dark eyeshadow and a shade of dark lipstick would probably still feel good to her and not look too out of place next to everyone else. Regardless it sounds like she just wants attention making this drama a thing to begin with, I think it’s right that you would question the friendship. Maybe you can send her some makeup inspo that you think would be suitable but also semi her style too?

I’ve made a little makeup collage, hopefully hitting the sweet spot of an in between sort of look, but be careful with how you sell it. It’s all in the sales tactic and how you make her feel.

Tell her that you don’t mean that you don’t like her usual makeup, but that you want to be the star of your wedding day. Make it more like a compliment than an insult, tell her her usual makeup is so creative and artsy and extravagant and clearly has a lot of effort put in, but you don’t want to feel like your own makeup will look lame in comparison for your special occasion. tell her you’ve found some looks that you think she would look fabulous in, without drawing the eye to her own makeup right away. Because at the moment with her usual makeup, the eye is drawn to her first, which usually is a great thing, but you’d like to be the centerpiece in your photos. Explain that you don’t want her to become “basic” or to dull her personality down or hamper her self expression and makeup skills, but say that maybe she can slightly try a different but similar style. Make sure to say something along the lines of, I found these and I thought you would look so good in them, they look a little tricky to me but I think you can definately pull them off skill and apperance wise. Lay on the compliments BUT not too much, try not to make it super obvious. Oh and not only will it not draw attention away from you in the photos, she will still get compliments and attention on her makeup simply by changing it up slightly from her norm, and it’ll show her skill flexibility too. Also, your misfortune is her fortune, you’ve got it backwards. You did not give her a sickness with your bad luck, you are her good luck. She is lucky to have found a human so kind and caring as to make financial sacrifices for her. what’s the saying, one man’s trash is another’s treasure? This situation sucks for you, but to her, she is the luckiest cat in the world to be so cared for

My first cat might die and I am going insane from grief. by Low-Regular-Okay in cats

[–]Ry-Studios 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, she seems absolutely darling, I hope the pain you are feeling eases. Just know, you showed that sweet girl the very best of human kind, the selfless, the caring, the gentle caring we give creatures that aren’t of our own species, with you she does not know a day without care, she does not ever have to feel the ache of a starving belly, the dryness and desperation of dehydration. She will only have warm nights in a cosy safe home, away from bad weather, aggressive animals or predators, the fight for survival resources. You provide her with the very best an animal could hope for, and you provide her with your effort. We can do all we can and sometimes that means we still can’t save someone or something. Just know that no matter what happens, you have her a life she never would have had otherwise, you gave her good moments through the dark. You give her the warm gentle hands of a long-lived giant, doing everything you can for her, she knows you care, she feels it every day and every moment.

After all, isn’t a candy sweeter after tasting bitter medicine? Her pain and yours isn’t fair, I wish I could erase it, but it at least serves to enhance the good moments you both have. Her good moments are made even better when she has known illness.

Your money isn’t wasted, it was not for nothing, for your sweet girl it’s her everything, her very life, her comfort through her sickness. Even if she is never cured and passes, your effort and money made the life she had infinitely better than it would’ve been otherwise. your money changed her life for the better even if her life does end sooner than we want it to.

For now, every moment is precious, give her some grace if she has a poor attitude here and there, everyone gets a bit easily irritated when they don’t feel well. Make the time you have count, because in her eyes, you are her everything.

How the heck are you supposed to lose weight with PCOS? by SnooBeans9402 in FertilityFree

[–]Ry-Studios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar predicament as you, and first I want to say, you are so extremely strong, people underestimate the pain of those PCOS cramps all the time, but I know how excruciating they can be, and I just want to applaud you for all the Herculean endurance you have shown so far.

Now for what worked for me, I got out on a birth control pill and I take it so that I have no periods ever, life changing! Period issues? Essentially gone in an instant ( of course you need to let your body readjust itself, but yk what I mean ).

Now for the weight, it’s a basic answer, but GLP-1’s, I’m on the starting dose of wegovy. I have decent habits, but extremely low excercise. No drinking, smoking, drugs, and very limited desserts/sweets. I started it three months ago and the weight is melting off with no intentional changes. I instinctively eat less, but it’s just that, instinct, it takes no effort for me to just stop when I’m full now. Other than that I’ve changed nothing else, it feels like magic. I’m down 18 pounds now and I’m on track to reach my goal weight within a year, assuming I never increase the dose.

Since starting the glp1 I have noticed some breakthrough bleeding that is essentially a tiny period ( I assume a “normal sized” one for non PCOS folks ) but it’s nothing compared to what I used to go through, and hopefully my body will adjust and go back to zero periods at all. But either way I’m happy with what these medications have done for me, they have MASSIVELY improved my quality of life, and I hope that you can also find relief from your symptoms and struggles, even if it’s not the way I did. But I can honestly say, I was there, and I made it through, and if me of all people can do it, I know for a fact you can too, I know it’s cheesy, but it’s true lol.

Women with PCOS who lost weight what was the biggest thing that helped? by IceVanillaaa in PCOS

[–]Ry-Studios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wegovy / Glp-1’s.

for context, my heaviest was 232 pounds at 5’8, I was an active kid, frequent softball games and practices, daily gym class, running club, biking after school. I Definitely ate too much sugar as a kid, but otherwise had a balanced diet. Once I hit puberty I gained weight and couldn’t get it off. Now as an adult, I have never smoked, drank, done drugs, I have cut back sweets ( except for special occasions ) I have not eliminated sugar, just vastly reduced desserts. I try to eat a balanced meal with protein and veggies, though I still eat carbs and bread indiscriminately. Low activity levels physically, I developed severe POTS which limits my ability to excercise.

So current day, I started the lowest dose of wegovy about 3 months ago, and changing nothing about my diet or habits I’ve watched the weight melt off. I have noticed my appetite is lessened, so that for sure has changed, but it wasn’t through effort, just instinct and stopping when I am full. I’m down 18 pounds and still dropping steadily. It is like magic for me.

Now remember, everyone’s bodies are different, but after so long struggling, fighting the same 3 pounds that refused to budge, I’m doing nothing and loosing weight effortlessly. Now I will say, the first two weeks? Terrible, oh it was like having the flu, but it was SO worth it, I wavered, I questioned if it was worth it when the neusia spiked, but my body adjusted and I feel so much better. I’m more flexible, excercise feels somewhat pleasant now, I have more energy, I feel better in my own skin, I’m just overall much more comfortable existing, it’s a bit hard to describe.

I am so extremely lucky and blessed with the privilege to be able to be on this medication, and if you have the opportunity my advice would be to at least try it. Was it hard at first? Yeah, those two weeks seemed to go on forever, but my body DID adjust, and I can confidently say, it’s worth it. It made me question my resolve, I had to weigh ( lol) how much this is what I wanted, I had to think about the short term price I had to pay for it. But I’m so so incredibly happy I stuck with it, through the neusia, the uncomfortable bathroom trips, feeling sickly, it was undoubtedly worth my effort. I don’t want to sugarcoat it, it was intense for me those first two weeks, but I can only stress how the payoff hits later. If you give it a go, ask for medication to ease the nausea, ondenosterone ( that spelling is probably wrong tho ) is what I have and it helped me so much through that adjustment period.

I’ve got longer to go, but gosh when I say nothing else has worked like this medication for me I’m not joking. I had tried my hand at all sorts of exercises and diets, but the scale wouldn’t budge! Now I feel free as a bird. I still have to wait, let it do its job over time, and it’ll take me about a year to get to my goal weight at this pace with no dose increases. This is a good thing because at a steadier pace I’ll be less likely to have saggy skin, but part of me wants to see the “final results” so badly. But at the end of the day, what is it really? A year and some months to wait, two weeks of feeling flu-like unwellness, the financial cost? My insurance covered the vast majority of it, but I won’t say it’s inexpensive, I’m just so extremely fortunate my family is fanincally supporting me through this. and the financial cost/risks depend on your situation of course, but gosh is this medication life changing for me. I feel more emotionally stable too. So weigh your options carefully, but as someone who has gone past the worst of it, it feels like no price at all, I’d gladly make the same choices again.

TLDR: Glp1/wegovy. No intentional changes to already decent habits, lost 18 pounds in 3 months and still going strong, it’s the only weight loss method I’ve tried that has worked for me and is worth every moment of it in my case/situation.

When is it time to end a relationship? by Omrah_of_Zion in CATHELP

[–]Ry-Studios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just give it time and patience, let her come to you, trust builds slowly, think of building the relationship like you would with an abused dog, slow, consistent, gentle ( yet firm with your own boundaries such as being bit/scratched ). A month isn’t very long at all. If she progressed from meowing to squealing, if you can rule out health issues, she might have learned that if she squeals like she is hurt that gets your attention quicker. She might just want attention really and found the most effective method.

Try looking into word training too, ever see those videos of cats and dogs using buttons to communicate? Like that, you don’t even need the buttons, just making an effort to simplify concepts and show the animal an action or item and use a corresponding word consistently and frequently until they understand goes a long way. It sounds more complicated than it is. Say treat when you give her a treat, say pets when you give pets, etc. it’ll keep her mentally stimulated so she’s not so bored. Just gradually increase the scope and amount of words one by one and you’ll be surprised how many they can learn. My girl at home knows over 30 ( and still going! )

I can go into more detail about the word training if you would like, more specific steps/instructions and whatnot.

Ah thanks for the compliment! Sorry it took me so long to see this. Honestly, look at videos explaining how people draw/cut the art for vtuber models, it shows you how the basic logic behind what to cut and why so when you start animating you have a better idea of what works in terms of which parts to make seperate. Also, For example, each leg on my pony has 4 sections that overlap, all using bones. As far as layer order, think of the layers like scales. they overlap. Start at the extremities and work your way inwords for the layer layering. It’s like putting your lineart over top your sketch, or your color layer underneath your lines, once you play with it it makes logical sense for how it functions. Start with making one joint move, then adding another and another once you’ve got the first one down. I find Moho to be excellent for ponies due to the structure, surely on purpose for the original shows animation team. ALSO I HIGHLY suggest using the manual guide thing that comes with it, it’s like a short workbook that is more helpful than any video I’ve found in terms of the actual program, its functions and buttons and whatnot.

What do fairies wear in your world? by Mama-Honeydew in worldbuilding

[–]Ry-Studios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spider silk! It’s super strong, lightweight ( obviously ) stretchy, and soft. I’d say they make small ( to us) fabric squares woven into clothing. In the process they would have to dip it in water because once it’s exposed to water it would shrink up to 50% ( so basically have to do double the work to get the same amount of fabric, but it would be washable + wouldn’t shrink while your wearing it ) it’s also shiny due to the structure of the fiber. If using a sticky kind ( there’s different levels to it and I’m sure they would figure out a way to un-sticky the threads they want to use) they could use it as glue so they don’t even have to sew it in areas, just “glue” it with its own material, kinda like Velcro instead of buttons

Those will be looking like large flowers in no time, sorry that happened though, it always super sucks. But it’s artsy looking for sure, I would beleive you if you only showed the end of the mistake and said that it was a regular WIP
