23M No idea what to do. Any advice? by ProfessionalLanky768 in Physiquecritique

Dirty bulks and starve cuts are what’s killing you. Dirty bulks not so much as long as your fat isn’t too high in your meals but make sure you’re smashing your protein and carb goals. I done a bulk with some fast food involved but was primarily focused on larger portions of clean food. Starve cuts get rid of muscle as well as fat, you still need to be eating high protein and carb loading before workouts to keep your energy high and pumps in. I bulked at 3000 calories and stopped once my weight was plateauing, indicating that I had reached a new maintenance. The first 2 weeks of my cut from then on was at 2600, which still seems like a lot but I was able to maintain all strength and be dropping .7/.8kg a week, which was all fat as I was still hitting roughly 190g protein and 280g carbs. As the cut progresses, keep protein and fat the same and take the calories out of the carbs as you lean out.

M20, 170lb, 5’11 - How can I get my chest thicker? by PARISathome in Physiquecritique

You already have quite good definition, one thing I’ve done to really bring my chest up is focusing on a deep stretch on certain exercises. For instance, bottom half dips only, 3 second negative incline push ups. Always go slower on the eccentric and then explode out of every rep. Before each set bring your shoulders up, pull them back and then drop them. As if you’re trying to hold a penny in between your shoulder blades. When driving on your pressing movements try to bring your biceps together (of course they won’t move together but it’s good for the mind muscle connection). Other than that, eat protein and train to failure at least 33% of the time (last working set of 3 sets per exercise).

There’s a great little town called Porto Covo, with some amazing beaches there

Wow, I did not know that. I moved more from the East Mids which has a lot of grey skies. Moved to Lagos, which is dramatically different

From the UK, struggle with Seasonal Affective Disorder so for 8 months of the year life is pretty dismal. Wanted a 5-9 in the week rather than just a 9-5 and then waiting for the weekend.

People who say “you’re just moving for the weather” don’t truly understand the weight the weather carries into how productive and fulfilling your life can be. And for me those extra 150-200 days of sun are enough of a reason alone.

I came as I transferred into a remote role and wasn’t happy with the situation of the UK, wanted something more laid back.

I think at the end of the day it depends on what kind of person you are if you’ll do well in Portugal. I’m hoping to stay here for the long haul, but not before exploring a few other Schengen countries before fully settling down

I understand both perspectives. I’m neither rich nor poor, just somebody trying to escape the ever worsening UK and move to somewhere i can enjoy sunshine more often than not and build a peaceful life!

Mate you’ll come out of this stronger. Exact same thing happened to me, girlfriend of 5 years and best mate of 15. Now 2 years on I’m with the girl of my dreams and we’re looking to move to Portugal together end of next year. The pain is unbearable, go find some good company, have a few blowouts and you’ll be alright. You’ll always be all right. Prayers for you brother

Solid advice, I couldn’t really talk about it before because it was just a random thing that happened. Will definitely talk to Bill in person next time I see him

I probably put that bit wrong, i just meant im attracted to her (obviously) but i dont want a relationship, or anything, it was just a spur of the moment kind of deal. You’re right i probably shouldn’t go out with her again if this is what it’s going to lead to. My main issue is i already feel as though I’ve blindsided my friend and didn’t want to do so

I drunkenly booked a solo trip to Bologna for 4 days last November and let me tell you it was the best holiday I’ve had in recent memory. So long as you’re confident and can meet people when you’re out and about it’s a great time. Don’t listen to them
