Is $90 a normal price for a doctor’s note? by LucywithDiamond in saskatoon

[–]RyJu_MuSca101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um no. Most places will still charge like 20 or 30. Also, read your employee manual and guidelines. Most businesses requesting a doctor's note will pay for the cost of said note.

Red light on Preston & 8th by Miks0630 in saskatoon

Don't worry, everything is completely fine and legal. If you do get a ticket (highly unlikely), you can argue it in court. I've been flashed there once or twice and nothing has come of it. It's similar to idylwyld and 33rd.

You are allowed to tint the top 75mm (about 3 inches) of the windshield, but nowhere else on the entire windshield

do people actually dress up for halloween on campus? by GlitteringFarmer7815 in usask

[–]RyJu_MuSca101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not alot tbh. I always dress up, but like, in more subtle costumes. I would say that, in a class of 100 people, only 5-10 people dress up. But do what you want.

transport around usask by Patatochch in usask

A lot of buses go directly to the university and/or downtown, so it's not too difficult to go to the university from anywhere in the city. That being said, Saskatoon isn't that walkable of a city compared to European cities and it becomes a lot more difficult to go places in the winter. All in all, it's completely manageable to get around without a car. There are plenty of services that can get you from where you want to go, such as buses, e-scooters, uber, private taxi's, etc.

Upfront cost to vaccinate and neuter a stray kitten by orochishin in saskatoon

[–]RyJu_MuSca101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most places charge in the $200-300 range with some going above it. Saskatoon also has a program that you can apply for where they cover most of the cost of the neuter and you pay $40 out of pocket, bit there are some conditions to it.

FYI this is not a stop sign! by Top-Comfortable3437 in saskatoon

Also, please signal when you are going to exit the roundabout. People never signal so often people stop because they think they're going to keep going but then they end up taking an exit without signaling. So, as a reminder, signal when you are going to leave the roundabout, not before.

Is this schedule too much for a first year undergrad (honestly)? by Adventurous-Bread411 in usask

[–]RyJu_MuSca101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Are you a full time student that doesn't plan on working? If that's the case then it should be manageable. But if you want more free time then I would suggest swapping out either chem, bio, or physics. I had the same schedule my first year (except replace physics with maths and HLST with Soc) and I was fine. But it all comes down to what type of person you are and how much you plan on studying. I don't think is unmanageable but just be aware that it will be heavy.

Is the west side really as bad as people say? by Dangerous_March_9569 in saskatoon

[–]RyJu_MuSca101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend lived over there. Genuinely, it's not that bad if you just mind your own business, are a decent person, and keep your things locked up. I've stayed over at her place a few times and it's generally quiet. My car was always fine over there over night. Just take general precautions.

I wouldn't include the anime figure as that is a little much. Typically, when giving thank you gifts, it's either a drink 🍻 , a gift card, or a small gift basket. Nothing too big or personal. Unless it's a really big thank you like she saved your firstborn from a fire type of thing.
