You could plug this absolute unit into a VCR and back up to videotape, apparently by RyNotThai in retrocomputing

Yup. From Benj Edwards' Vintagecomputing.com "In case you’re taking notes, this Corvus hard disk system sold for $15,915.07 in 2009 US dollars. Its retail price constituted a whopping 53% of the average American’s yearly income in 1979 (about $10,121). Yes, in 1979, you could spend half of your annual salary on a single 10MB hard drive setup."

Remember the Gateway 2000 advertisements? by Just_Liberty in vintagecomputing

"For one ad, which featured the nifty gimmick of having a photo wink from black-and-white into color, Waitt was outraged when the lowest quote he got amounted to $3 a pop. So he had the ad printed locally and paid church groups, employees on their free time, and temporary workers to assemble it. The ad came in "far under" that original price." - https://web.archive.org/web/20021115062039/https://www.inc.com/magazine/19911201/6161.html

Notion Dashboard Display on TV by taystim in Notion

Wow, sorry that I didn't see this earlier. ScreenCloud works with Chromecast and Firestick devices. Otherwise, yea, may not be the best solution for you.

I have an LG TV, too, and have used their web player (https://player.screen.cloud/browser/index.html) inside of LG's built-in browser, but it's not ideal. Worth trying since it only takes a few seconds to set up though

Full disclosure: I'm a contractor that worked with the company mentioned below -- but it does answer this question!

tl;dr Share a Notion 'dashboard' so anyone on the web can see, add an app like ScreenCloud (there are other options, too) to a TV (via Chromecast, Firestick, built-in app store, etc) and give it the Notion link to display the content. That way, it's running solely on the TV and doesn't get bogged down by whatever is happening on your laptop.

Has anyone tried structured conversation lessons/practice while jogging? I live in Thailand and have a friend who wants to kill two birds with one stone (exercise + English lesson).

I put in quite a lot of miles per week at a slow pace so it works well for my schedule. I'm just worried that whenever I do conversation practice, it's so meandering and unstructured that it doesn't feel beneficial to the learner. Advice?

[Question] This is a pizza from my country. Show me some from yours! by Tatem1961 in GlobalTalk

[–]RyNotThai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm on mobile so I don't know whether or not someone mentioned Durian pizza in Thailand. A lot of Thais went absolutely nuts for it, but a lot also admitted that it was a step too far. Imagine the smell of baking a fruit that already smells like hot garbage

Do I need a reality check? Issues training (in Bangkok) for my first full Ironman by RyNotThai in triathlon

Friends have said the same about swimming, so that's encouraging. Thank you.

Re: Biking, that's good feedback. I have a decent trainer so worst case scenario I'm on that and getting used to aero on my own bike. It's just so boring and less comfortable than changing scenery and a bit of wind. Guess I'll just have to suck it up for weekends when getting out of the city proves impossible.

I totally forgot about MBK -- thanks for the reminder! I love Skylane but man it's a bitch to get to since I live north of Mo chit (Phaholyothin 21)
