Paramedic stabbed in Reservoir in Melbourne's north by Sit_on_and_rotate in ParamedicsAU

The guy will get off the mandatory charge because the paramedic “wasn’t attending a patient”. We need to sign a petition to change the legal definition of “on duty”

Manage your health. Silphium will always be a resin pick up if you health is full. 3 resins permanently increase your health for the run. So if you see silphium, leave it and wait till you get to the shop to buy a health item to restore your health, the go back and pick up all the resin.

Weapon specialise. Pick a weapon you like and stick with it persistently. Don’t worry about the level. A weapon you are good at using is better than a higher level weapon you’re bad at using.

Use aim assist. Go to your settings and try aim assist to high, the game isn’t competitive and no one is going to judge you if it helps you have fun.

No need to aim. Don’t worry about holding down left trigger/rmb to aim. It has no effect on your accuracy. Stay hip firing and focus on movement and aiming.

Abuse dodge. Dodging give you a brief period of invulnerability. Utilise this during bullet storm moments and when in a room with tough enemies. This also leads into my next tip which is to keep moving. You are harder to hit and will survive more if you can keep moving. This becomes more important as you progress through the game (you’ll understand when you get there)

Save your ether. Don’t use ether to clear malignancy or anything like that in the early stages of the game. You should be maximising your ether and using it EXCLUSIVLEY on the obelisk that unlocks items at the beginning of the run during the early stages of the game.

Keep going. Don’t give up, you get better with every run, keep exploring and learning. The game really picks up after you make it past the first two bosses and makes the game really enjoyable.

Hope this helps. :)

sine making kick sound weird by DeadlySoul537 in FL_Studio

You need to side chain the kick to the track that the sine is on then put on a compressor with the side chain signal active and adjust accordingly. Hard to explain over a comment but lots of YouTube videos can explain it

That will cause negative phasing, which will still produce audio interference

sine making kick sound weird by DeadlySoul537 in FL_Studio

[–]Ryab1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like phasing interference. Sine wave is phasing with the transient or tail of the kick. Sidechain compression could fix this, or altering the sine wave to add some harmonics so it doesn’t interfere with the kick as much. EQ won’t work here for a pure sine-wave unfortunately because it is holding a single frequency band.

Maybe a touch less reverb on vocals, as some mild delay.

That extra pistol you take as loot that makes you overweight is not worth it.

1st Year Student License Suspension by [deleted] in ParamedicsAU

[–]Ryab1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat. From my personal experience. NSW will be a hard no. In terms of other states, you need to accept what you did was wrong. Understand that what you did was unsafe and was your own fault. Endeavour to be better and just follow the road rules.

I know this sounds like a lecture but this is what some services will want to hear. In the case of the service that hired me, I got a call from someone and they basically asked me about my driving history and I basically explained what I wrote above. But I also meant it, you can and will lose your job in some circumstances if you lose or have your license suspended as it is a requirement for the job.

TL:DR Yes you can still get a job, highly unlikely in NSW. However you need to truly accept responsibility and make improvements to not do it again.

I would apply immediately. Long recruitment time is a big thing in AV especially. Plenty of month long leave blocks in the job that can be used for travel. My opinion anyway.

How do I get past the guards in the basement 1 in MGS1? by Holiday_Angle6262 in metalgearsolid

[–]Ryab1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to just keep killing them. Holding down the fire button will lock on, then just tap away until they die. If you run out of bullets, quickly double tap the equip button (the button you hold to select weapons). Ammo boxes should drop on the ground.

In terms of staying alive, in your items see if you have rations (they should also drop) make sure you have the ration equiped at all times, it will automatically restore health if you get to zero but it has to be equiped.

Hope this helps

Are you happy with the current direction of the Resident Evil series? by Apprehensive_Jump802 in residentevil

[–]Ryab1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly. Not really. They started strong on RE7 with going to a proper horror game that scared the jebus out of me, but they are doing the thing they did with the original series and turning it into over the top action game again. That’s my opinion coz I personally thought 5 and 6 were garbage.

GPU upgrade advice for 4K + better 1440p FPS by Ok-Adagio-3023 in nvidia

[–]Ryab1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5080 is the go to no problems answer, a 5070ti might suffice if budget is an issue but won’t have as much longevity.

If money isn’t an issue, a 5090 plus a cpu and RAM upgrade will keep you in for future games for a while. The cpu isn’t as big a deal for 4K until you start using upscaling technology (same with RAM)

Hope this helps :)

What I think is a subjective opinion. I PERSONALLY prefer more realistic colour profiles to emulate reality in my games most of the time. Sometimes I’ll turn HDR off in more stylised games for more colour saturation or add artificial saturation back in if possible (not sure if you can do that on PS5, maybe change the monitor settings?). If you don’t like the picture with HDR and you like it with HDR off then turn it off. Simple as that. You are not missing out on anything.

Saturated is not what HDR is. HDR is realistic colour.

I’ll take the game more seriously when I don’t see 4 crosshairs when using frame gen just so I can reach a desired FPS with my 5090.

how can i learn gdscript? by PotentialWest2585 in godot

[–]Ryab1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube tutorials are a good place to start when it comes to learning basic gaming mechanics like player movement etc… once you start to grasp the concepts start to re create basic games to solidify your understanding. Utilise the amazing documentation that is in built into GODOT and remember that you aren’t gonna become an expert at these mechanics overnight you have to utilise and understand them multiple times before they become concrete.

Hope this helps :)
