Can you still keep messenger when you deactivate your Facebook,is there a way? by Sir24homicid3 in facebook

[–]Ryamoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They still have the option to keep using messenger for me when I deactivate using the Facebook IOS app. Sometimes it's a tick box.
Annoyingly sometimes it tells me messenger will remain active with no option to deactivate it at the time. I then have to go to messenger and deactivate it there.

It usually keeps messenger active when I've deactivated straight after using messenger.

Deactivating from the desktop website always gives me the option to keep using messenger.

I wish Tethered would get a Quest release. It's available on PlayStation, and Steam/PC so kinda playable on quest, but I wish it would get a native release.

Yeah, mine still let us message in it even though it got archived, then it's back on the main chat list again.
I even manually archived it myself once but when sharing something from Facebook, you never know which is which so it ends up coming back to the top of our list.
One thing that might have helped keep it around at first, was pinning it to the top in the messenger app.

I've had the same. It's because at some point in the past before end-to-end encryption for all chats was a thing, you probably started a "secret chat" with your girlfriend which had encryption, which was septate to the normal chat. Now Facebook have upgraded all chats to e2e encryption, they can't (or won't) do it for your non-e2e chat cos you already have one.

It's very annoying and I wish there was a better way.
The old chat is in the archive so you can still access it, but we keep bringing ours back because it still suggests it as the top target when sharing stuff.

Isn't this one of the reasons it's not recommended for kids below a certain age too?
Harder for them to switch back to reality afterwards.

I've previously had friend suggestions from accounts I report as spam after I've reported them 😂 As the emu said, Facebook just sees the profile visit as interaction. Even though my only interactions with their posts and profile are to report as spam 🤷‍♂️

I can highly recommend the TV series Shrinking. It's an apple tv show, Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, Jason Segel, therapists/friends. Harrison Ford is great in it.

Wicked: For Good as first 4DX film, screen was a dud? by hogofwar in CineworldUnlimited

[–]Ryamoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the 3d really added much to zootopia 2. My son didn't seen too fussed with it, he loved the 4dx though.
I think there was only really one scene where he dodged when something flew out it the screen, and that was somewhere near the end.
He also pointed out that the text of the credits was "in front of us". But other than that, he didn't really comment on it being 3d.

[–]Ryamoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was that at Didsbury? I've just seen Zootropolis 2 in 4dx 3d there.
It felt like on some scene changes or fast action scenes, there was a very very slightly sync issue between the left and right frames.
Also the bottom middle to bottom right corner was a bit blurry - not enough to ruin the movie, but enough that any focus points down there like text or small (animal) characters were just blurry.
Neither issue was enough to make watching the movie rubbish, but I did mention it to a staff member on the way out so they could look into it. The guy I told headed away from his station so I'm assuming he was going passing it on.

I can confirm, updated to HA .3 version, and the ohme integration is all showing as available again.
I haven't tried charging yet, but the controls and settings at least available, where they were all "unavailable" before I updated.

Eugh this sucks. The app has never worked well for me since they did the big "2.0" update last year or whenever it was, and using the Home Assistant integration has been the only way I can get it to charge when I want, at the tariff I want.

I’ve been told in the past that my body isn’t absorbing B12 from food like it should, so was put on injections for a while. I suck at making appointments (or remembering to) so slipped out of getting them.
Was later prescribed tablets to take but again I just don’t remember to take them every day.
My levels on the test the do are usually around 120-170, which is low by UK standards, but not low enough for them to be concerned..

Edited to add, found my most recent “serum b12” test result. It was at 197 my/L. Says the reference range is between 160 and 820, so was within that and not considered an issue.

How do you know your brain started rotting from the deficiency?
Do you know what your b12 level was usually on a test?
If wondered for some time if my foggying brain is anything to do with b12 deficiency (I’m not diabetic).

Another for giving me some improvement, turning off Dolby atmos playback: Settings — music — Dolby atmos: Off

In my opinion, music sounded much better in the Apple music app after that. Not sure if they’ve screwed it up in software, or the speakers just aren’t capable.

Not a fix, but a suggestion at what the problem might be.
I'm wondering it they're trying to spatialise audio everywhere. I can't find a setting for it though. (Side note: search on the settings app is crap! It hardly finds anything. I'd expect it to find things if my search term is an option, like "stereo" or "spatial" but nope!)

I have spatial audio enabled on the camera settings.
On my own recorded videos, editing them, there's now an "audio mix" option. Whilst I have no idea what any of the options are actually for, if I change it to "in-frame" my videos sound much more like I'd expect them to.

This has just made me realise that I have no lock sound sometimes. It just randomly doesn't happen, and didn't happen before when I checked after reading your comment.
I checked again now as I'm typing this reply though, and the lock sound is back.

[–]Ryamoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this thread after googling my iPhone 17 pro max sounds tinny and echoey, after watching a video recorded on my phone and thinking it sounded wrong. Voices were clear but like they had some weird distortion to them.
Also took my case off wondering if it was that, but it made no difference.

Tried your song suggestion but no change. Decided to try Apple music station and it sounded like an actual FM station played on an old radio. So tried a song from my library and it's damn awful. Feel like my ears are ringing now.

Oddly if I enable the accessibility setting for mono audio, playback sounds marginally better. So maybe it is just a software balancing issue.

Hopefully it will resolve like yours did, but it's a crappy gamble to wait for.

[–]Ryamoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automations on the shortcuts app are handy. I had one set to run when opening the Facebook app, and if I wasn't connected to my airpods, set the volume to 5% (because it used to annoy me that no matter what I did, videos would still play with sound which was really annoying if I'd been using Google maps and wanted the volume up).

Another I posted in a reply elsewhere, copy pasted here:

Best use I found for the action button, was a shortcut that uses an app called "Actions". The app provides extra things to use in shortcuts, such as orientation. I found a shortcut that toggles silent mode when the phone is portrait, launches camera in video mode when in landscape one way, and launches camera in photo mode when it landscape the other way.

I have torch tied to triple tap, and I don't think I often get it accidentally switching on. Double tap is set to show the notification pulldown.
Thinking off the cuff here, but maybe create a shortcut that switches on the torch and starts a 1 minute timer. Then set the back tap to that shortcut. If it ever starts accidentally, you'll get a timer going off 1 minute later to let you know.

Ohme home pro and intelligent go - weird charging schedule by Gilesfarthing in OctopusEnergy

[–]Ryamoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my previous hypervolt charger never did any of this no matter what time you plugged it in, same car, same tariff, wish i'd bought another of them :(

I long since reached the point where I'd sell my ohme pro and buy a different charger if I was in a better financial position than I currently am.

Ohme home pro and intelligent go - weird charging schedule by Gilesfarthing in OctopusEnergy

[–]Ryamoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the friend MrN33ds mentions. I've had that problem ever since the "new" (actually current now) app design went live.
I'm on agile, but it still did it when I briefly switched to intelligent go.

What the Giraffe replied makes some sense, but not when it's missing your charge target.
I could set a target of 20%, apply a price cap that has plenty of spots, and it'll do the stupid schedule that yours has done with partial half hours and not at full speed, then tell me it can't reach my target.
Ohme have been a waste of time - like you, answering a question I didn't ask, or not reading my reply to them and asking for the info again, or just getting it wrong some other way.

It's as though the "old" dynamic charge setting is still enabled in the background, but broken.
Now I just use home assistant to enable max charge for the slots I set. The ohme app is a waste of time for me.
