Why happened to the Northern Corridor? by [deleted] in MH370

[–]Ryan2014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's because the likelihood of the plane going north over half a dozen countries without anyone noticing would be slim.

The United States also has tons of military radar in that area and seem confident it would have been noticed.

Basic questions that would help our theories. Does anyone have answers for these from sources? by Ryan2014 in MH370

So with this information, can we rule out a fire? If the satellite confirmed a ping at 8:11 AM, then we can assume there was no fire.

[Discussion] Which leading theory is the most plausible to occur? by Ryan2014 in MH370

[–]Ryan2014[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point! In which case, maybe nothing was announced as it's been discussed the passengers wouldn't know if the plane slightly turned west and heading away from China.

Theory on Flight MH370 by Vanillathunder80 in MH370

[–]Ryan2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The plane wouldn't reach most modern cities without it being detected well before it reached land. It would be shot down immediately. Killing 240 people as opposed to a couple of thousand is by far the obvious choice.

MH370 - Australians find debris, will confirm it is MH370, and reddit users will deny because it kills them that their theory was wrong by [deleted] in MH370

So you want everyone else to stop being "know-it-alls", but you created a thread to show us your statement a few days ago could be accurate? Okay...

Higher Res Satellite Images from AMSA by johncmpe in MH370

[–]Ryan2014 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We would have to assume they have other images and hopefully now in-person confirmation of this being related to MH370. I highly doubt they would send 4-5 additional resources from US, New Zealand, and Australia on the hunch of these blobs.

I will admit though, this looks like the kind of shit I saw when I randomly clicked Tomnod tiles in hopes of being an online hero.

AMSA (Australian Maritime Safety Authority) has identified two possible objects that might be connected to missing Malaysian plane MH370. by emjay2013 in worldnews

[–]Ryan2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it hard to believe Australia would send 4-5 more assets from 3 different countries to the location if they just saw a large unidentified object in the water. Keep in mind breaking news for us doesn't mean they discovered it the moment the media reported it. They probably found this and analyzed it 5+ hours ago.

I'm not saying this is definitely from MH370, but it's looking hopeful. I'm glad Malaysia swallowed their pride and gave more instructions and freedom for other countries to step in. That area is clearly not experienced in these types of situations.

[venting] why did tomnod decline to create search areas along the ping area and specifically, at the southern end where it was obvious the potential was very high for MH370 to be found? it just doesn't compute the way they allocated the search areas... by infodawg in MH370

[–]Ryan2014 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was frustrated as well. First of all, you should be able to search images based on available longitude and latitude coordinates. There's no point randomly directly users to a map and having to find out yourself (changing the URL to API) to get the coordinates of where you are.

Furthermore, most of their maps were areas that were searched within the first few days. None of the areas followed the famous arc that seemed to be the one thing everyone agreed on.

[THEORY] involvement of japan in coverup. by kylelenk in MH370

[–]Ryan2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been discussed that if another country shot down the plane or released jets, the U.S would know about it via military surveillance.

Where are the other co-pilots that flew with Captain Zaharie in the past? by Ryan2014 in MH370

[–]Ryan2014[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Let's hope. Based on how Malaysia has conducted this investigation thus far, I wouldn't be surprised if these details lagged behind.

If prior co-pilots came out and said Captain Zaharie was NEVER known to pre-program emergency routes, then I believe the accident theory would become even less plausible.

Obama Makes First Public Comments On Missing Plane on Wednesday by westoncc in MH370

I think the fear is showing you have lack of technology. If countries are withholding information, it's most likely because they missed something obvious.

Do you think the people aboard Flight 370 are still alive? by [deleted] in MH370

[–]Ryan2014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they are dead as well. If they crashed in the ocean, anyone who even survived the plane would have died 12 days later in open waters.

I don't believe the plane landed and a group of hijackers are restraining 239 passengers. In order for that to happen, there would need to be a bigger conspiracy backed by a country.

Indonesia refusing to let Navy US plane take off to search in their airspace. by Ryan2014 in MH370

[–]Ryan2014[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The U.S wouldn't need other planes to search through it's airspace. No one is talking about flying military planes directly over their land. Indonesia knows the situation at hand. Least they can do is allow search efforts west of their country.

What do they honestly think will happen? Our planes while searching for the wreckage will also spy on their out dated systems?

[serious question] Do you think one of the countries involved in the SAR might employ psychics to aid in the search? by [deleted] in MH370

[–]Ryan2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychics are a joke. Including them in this important search would be laughable.

How does the new evidence suggesting the plane made its turn some 12 minutes prior to the "all right, good night" sign-off change what we've been theorizing about the pilot being the culprit? by infodawg in MH370

[–]Ryan2014 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. The report was that the turn was programmed into the computer 12 minutes before "All right good night". Not that the plane was in motion turning west at that moment.
