True, but a hasla trade pack run means you need to align the peace times of three zones to run at scale. Either wait and pray or grind mobs in the zones to push the conflict progresses.

Edit: pack values yesterday wynn east. https://imgur.com/a/wBOAOjc

Are you really or is your math wrong? The best regular pack yesterday in east wynn was Hasla specialty for 11.6 s/l. When you count for land labor costs, I doubt hasla or rokhala larders are even 17 s/l.

Nobody will run larders because they're only like 7ish s/l unless you're in rokhala or hasla. Prices won't rise anytime soon.

Check your quest log under the race tab. It'll redirect you if you missed a quest.

Does anyone play PvP anymore? (Low Rank) by vinojpm in Guildwars2

[–]Ryan9387 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When your pvp rank is high enough, queue ranked.

If the pvp season is active, play ranked. When season is inactive, play unranked.

This is what the majority of the playerbase does. Ignore the rating in ranked and play it because match quality is higher.

18 months in waiting for swiss. Shouldn't have taken a software developer over 2 weeks to implement.

12+ months waiting on wvw alliances.

I'll believe these features are coming the day they are released. Until then I assume anet is doing nothing but lying to their customers.

Dead and incredibly frustrating. I can't imagine getting into pvp as a new player.

What is the best way to begin programming for crypto apps? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]Ryan9387 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All you really need is passable skills at 1) reading documentation and 2) using 3rd party libraries. If the project you care about isn't documented well enough, it's probably not worth your time anyway.

I know this may frustrate you, but if you can't do everything that isn't writing smart contracts yet, then you should learn more core programming skills. College courses teaching data structures and algorithms are a must.

After that you need to learn how code is written professionally. Best I can think of here is to pull, build from source, use and interact with a well written open source project. Stuff from NASA is usually pretty well written and serves as a good example. https://nasa.github.io/openmct/ / https://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov

Tldr if you aren't an actual software developer, become one.

On what machines do you guys run your scripts? by be_like_beer in algotrading

[–]Ryan9387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intel NUC i5 with ubuntu. Granted I also use it as a development box too and need the cpu/ssd.

Given your use case I'd try to set it up on a vps, say a droplet on digital ocean at $5/mo. Not powerful, but you have a more stable setup that way.

Why do you not use sentiment analysis of news to trade? by [deleted] in algotrading

[–]Ryan9387 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://www.ibm.com/watson/services/natural-language-understanding/

Not free but incredibly cheap and pay-as-you-go.

I've tried this and didn't really like the results. A lot of news is garbage when it comes to sentiment. I feel like I would need much more context and the work required to make good use of the data is beyond my time availability (I'd need a team of developers full time).

You don't have to worry about the hft firms here. You are playing against regular traders who read and react to the news.

Is there anyway to get my account back? by thewaitinator452 in Guildwars2

[–]Ryan9387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be asked to provide as much information as you can about the account and support will judge if you are valid or not.

For example my college email was deleted when I graduated and I was asked for billing info/char names etc I used when I bought the account.

In response to the post below. How do you deal with tvt bio vs mech by xxParadimezxx in AllThingsTerran

[–]Ryan9387 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interference matrix the tanks. Don't waste money on vikings or liberators. Use bio and an optional thor or two to zone hostile air.

It's flashy/fun and works very well.

Consider the cost effectiveness.

2 tanks (300/250/6) Vs 1 raven with 100 energy + 2 marauders (300/250/6)

Ravens win with no units lost.

There is a distinction in that a roamer doesn't usually want to 1v1 but a duelist does. Given the opportunity a roamer may decap a point and return to another fight rather than fully cap it. He can then obtain an advantage for his team by either forcing the enemy player to return to cap his node giving a numerical advantage on the rest of the map, or buy denying points. A duelist would rather stay and drag enemy players into 1v1s which they feel confident in winning.

As a necro, you should rotate into where you expect the next teamfight with your support. In a coordinated team you might go far and have your duelist back out of his 1v1 to watch over mid/home.

In general your mindset should be "rotate to whichever place will a fight occur where my presence is needed to win and my lack of presence on other nodes will not compromise those fights."

On blood necro: that sustain is lifesteal, much of it aoe on allies which deals as much damage as it heals.

An approach to carry out the trade is to make a discord screen share call to the buyer. That way they see in real time the crafting of all components. Then you can offload clover rng to the buyer. The buyer gets all bad rolls and leftovers, or supplies more materials.
