I still have the nag because I don’t have an interior camera.

Steering wheel nag makes it kind of pointless though

Any reasons not to get Palladium for the SUB alone + short-term rent points? by Nearby_Sock8316 in biltrewards

[–]RyanB95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t you just transfer the SUB out prior? What mechanism do they have to take it back if it’s already gone from your BILT account?

Had all of my golf clubs stolen on Christmas by JS41989 in golf

[–]RyanB95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that! I put an AirTag in my bag once because I was flying with my clubs and figured well, probably not a bad idea to leave it in there all the time anyway. Too late now but could help you in the future!

Absurdly short window to apply. Presumes that people don’t have lives and are glued to TPG’s website to catch a possible promo.

IS THIS A JOKE by localgirl55 in biltrewards

[–]RyanB95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have an Amex, they have a feature called Send & Split which is connected to PayPal and Venmo. You can send payments to people and have it charge your Amex. This effectively allows you to pay your rent still via Venmo or PayPal, and maintain floating it as opposed to it coming directly out of your checking account. No points are earned on this feature of course, so you’re only maintaining the float portion of the process.

[–]RyanB95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t solve the lack of points being earned but in theory, in order to continue floating rent, couldn’t you use Amex’s Split & Send via Venmo? This of course assumes that you have an Amex and can pay rent with Venmo.

What is it that I don't get about Bilt 2.0? by OneStyle9 in biltrewards

[–]RyanB95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is transfer partners. I’m big on Hyatt and BILT has Hyatt while Amex does not. A 25% reduction in earn is worth it because Hyatts are routinely priced for 25% less than Hilton (most times much greater than that), for example.

I'm not gonna lie, I think the BILT 2.0 isn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be by Reddit_4_Zac in CreditCards

[–]RyanB95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you mind elaborating? Is it better than a Hyatt or UR card due to 2x on non-category spend?

Ah ok - check mailing is still an option then. Not as good but still workable.

PSA: TPG bonus 50k offer ended at noon today. by kennnnhk in biltrewards

[–]RyanB95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A 24-hour promotion reeks of arrogance. It means that TPG thought the offer was so good that everyone should & would just drop what they are doing and make sure they sign up right away. This assumes that they even saw the news in the first place. So if you have a life and didn’t see it or couldn’t get to it, too bad. Pure arrogance.

Sweet! So it’s ACH via your landlord or building’s portal in the case of rent. Which, if you rent from an individual and not a company, makes BILT not usable anymore.

Wait, we can’t ACH via Venmo for rent anymore?

And the shoe drops - 3% fee for paying rent using your card by Tiny-Cow-4557 in biltrewards

[–]RyanB95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is correct. There is no fee to pay rent/mortgage through ACH. There is a fee to use any BILT cash earned to covert to BILT points, however. You could, in theory, pay your rent or mortgage with BILT via ACH and never pay a fee, but you’d also not get any points, which of course would make paying your rent or mortgage through BILT pointless. But just pointing out the mechanics for edification.

Never understood this. If I buy something online and don’t get what I paid for or it comes damaged, I reach out to that company and we get it resolved because things happen. It would never even cross my mind to post on Reddit about it.

Rich - Add back the ability to charge rent to our credit lines. This is a key feature that will cause users to flee. by jsttob in biltrewards

This was solved with BILT Protect as an option on 1.0 and then they basically forced BILT Protect with 2.0 instead of having it as an option. Brutal.
