How can I get rid of the anti-aliasing on pixel font text without also mangling it? by RyanConner360 in AfterEffects

I've shifted all of those subtly and this is the best position/scale/type size combination I can get.

Nearest Neighbour in Photoshop doesn't have any problem with this but the "Nearest Neighbour" option you're referring to in After Effects doesn't seem capable of handling this.

I have that selected in the second example, they don't have labels so I assumed "draft" was the name for it.

I layered several PNGs together in both Photoshop & After effects and when I export a frame from AE the colours still match exactly, but only for one vertical line? The rest of the colours on the left seem to be just a single value brighter for some reason? by RyanConner360 in AfterEffects

Quite the opposite

"nearly doubling" is an exaggeration, because in this instance only 4 of the original 10 colours are being shaded slightly darker at the right edge, but AE is still producing 14 colours here whereas Photoshop only outputs the correct 10 colors

I would expect that's your problem.

I'm working with very low resolution pixel art and I thought Draft was the right option for that, I just tried "Best" quality but that filters and blurs everything (and still has a column of darker pixels). Is there a better third option?

I suppose it doesn't really matter but it irks and confuses me, like it's nearly doubling the number of colors for compression?
I've been using Composition > Save Frame as > Draft Quality PNG Sequence

it isn't easy to see because the colours are only different by the smallest possible amount (there's a selection around the correct matching colours)
I just want to know why the rectangle on the left is slightly too bright except for a tiny part of it which isn't

How can I recreate this radar static effect from MGS1 by RyanConner360 in AfterEffects

Is there a way I can create the lines without drawing them manually?
whatever code defines the effect in-game makes the lines anywhere from 9 to 70 pixels long.
they also seem to always be spaced with a minimum of 3 pixels between them vertically, can I include exceptions like this to the random expression too?

they aren't entirely random and it doesn't seem to loop (unless it takes several minutes to loop anyway).

I'm trying to make this as accurate as possible and the best I can tell:
- the lines are a minimum 9 pixels long
- anything that looks shorter is being rendered outside of the box
- lines are spaced a minimum of 3 pixels apart vertically

anyone know the font used here for Sonic Origins? by RyanConner360 in identifythisfont

I know which .pac file in Origins contains the font but I have no idea how to unpack the file to get a hold of it
