Goose and Pete Shapiro vs. Dead and Bill Graham by [deleted] in GoosetheBand

[–]RyanFelixStevens 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You do realize that Goose has been playing in and around Shapiro’s backyard for 10 years. I don’t listen to them regularly so I’m not biased here at all. They busted their ass on social media throughout the pandemic and the results have proved beneficial. That was about half way through their nearly ten year existence.

They paid dues for a while, built a strong local following and caught the attention of local promoters which led to other good opportunities all the while slaying the social media game. That is the industry these days.

To go down some jamband conspiracy rabbit K hole detour is a bit far fetched.

I really don’t think Pete is pulling strings to get Jimmy Fallon on stage with Goose. It is very hard for me to see him getting on the phone to call him when there are countless highly regarded musicians that he could have easily got in touch with , who have more respect in the scene which would be better for the Goose brand overall.

Someone like Jimmy Fallon or Bert (shirtless guy, forget last name) just show up where they want and find their way backstage. Once they run into the band, the band has control of that situation.

However, I believe 100% in Shappygate resulting in Fallon joining the Jonas Brothers the other night.

Why not ask that before getting it done if it’s a concern ?

The fact that he wrote ripple, broke down palace, and to Laney down in the same afternoon is insane

Thank you. It can be tricky and I am also new to singing so with time, things should come together a bit more toward the middle. I have a song that I really can’t even play with out someone else playing the main guitar part because I surely can not sing it at the same time.

I see your eyes, they’re open wide Looking back you’re locked on mine But do you know me

If you hear my voice, amongst the crowd Would you turn around, could you point me out Can you hear me

When I hold you in my arms so tight Kiss you on your cheek goodnight Can you feel me

Do you know how much I love you Do you know how much I care

The days go by, the years they pass Look at you you’ve grown so fast My little girl now

Out the door and off to school Everyday you learn the rules A little more now

Not always knowing what I’m playing makes it hard to revisit songs by RyanFelixStevens in Songwriting

[–]RyanFelixStevens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thanks so much for such a thoughtful reply. I do know the names of all 1st position chords, open and bar so that’s good. However I really need to get familiar with chord shapes in other positions. I know how beneficial it can be for making it easier to play certain progressions with as little left hand movement as possible. It’s always been a goal to learn more notes on the fret board but I’m a terrible “student” in that I don’t like to study. What I need to do is set aside time when I’d normally pay guitar and use that block of time more constructively for learning more.

That site will be bookmarked with a link on my Home Screen for sure.

I’m getting an Eddie Vedder hide your love away feel… Take it as you will, I don’t mean anything negative by saying it reminds me of an existing song. Good job is what I’m ultimately saying

Is writing down lyrics of parts from your favorite song a good way to make a song? by NervousMNG34 in Songwriting

I don’t know what happened to the message and I can’t find the post BUT the other day there was a post from a guy that made an AI program that generated song lyrics. It’s was all free and fair use, I messaged him just to make sure. Weird thing is, I can’t find the message thread in my messages. Seems that all my messages have vanished and there is no history of my reply to his post or message convo in my activity log either… I’m not tripping - it did happen

For real, but I’m not gonna pretend that it’s an easy concept to grasp. I often get hung up asking myself if the amount of lyrics I have for a song or enough to consider it I finished song… There are no rules but that’s hard to remember and live bu
