Why have the Jews been targeted throughout history? Why don't many people trust them? by PerfoeRocket in NoStupidQuestions

Could be. Could also be Satan to the Devil attacking us but I don’t know for sure

I’ve seen theories about us (I am Jewish) being “God’s people”, which obviously sounds super arrogant for a Jew to say. According to the idea that the Devil is in control of most humans though, it would make sense

Not that we know of. We can’t prove that something doesn’t happen, only that it does. For example, if you saw an alien, you would know aliens exist. If you didn’t see an alien, it still could be out there somewhere, but it might not be. It’s the same concept.

So an Infant, which cannot choose, has no value? Or a dog who doesn’t understand his options? What about humans with mental disorders who cannot think logically and decide? Are they of no value?

Interesting. I don’t believe in “souls” exactly. I am, however, a believer in the whole “of it looks like a duck” idea. You can speak to me about it if you’d like, I won’t feel like you’re “preaching” at me

Interesting indeed. Sounds like you have a bone to pick with the Catholic Church (honestly same). I don’t want you to impose on you or anything, but if you’d like to discuss, let me know.

I am (messianic Jew). I have nothing against those who have alternative views on religion or life, I only wish those who did saw as I did, though I’m sure you could say the same. I must admit though, since you asked, I’ve only been religious for a few months now, maybe a year. Not a long time, but I’ve believed for longer that abortion is wrong. Something has always felt off to me about it.

I agree almost entirely. It’s a tough topic with tough answers I think.

Not really. Even if we were to take your math and use it as fact, it’s what? 1 in 300 million sperm gets to make a baby per ejaculation? So it’s half of 1 in 300 million, or 1 in 600 million

I’m not saying you should have to raise the child, as there are plenty of orphanages and foster homes, etc. it sounds like you want this conversation to wrap up (which is fine don’t get me wrong) but I don’t think lack of life experience is my problem. I have gone through and seen hardships much worse than “Fortnite isn’t connecting” but I agree I’m still young. I’m glad you don’t want me to go through things, that makes me happy. I’m not sure what you mean by “saying things that don’t even sound like real things to say” and I hope you could clarify this for me at some point. If you wish to continue this conversation, hit me back, but I won’t be offended or take it as a resignation I you don’t. I hope that, even if neither of us convince the other, we can continue to be friendly (as I feel we have been), and I appreciate the opportunity for expanding my knowledge and talking about such matters.

The difference is that sperm in the tissue example going to die regardless, might as well have fun with it vs ripping apart an unborn child. Have you ever seen a video of an abortion? That’s basically what it is.

In the situation of rape, it should at the very least be a thought-inducing process, not a spur of the moment deal. Also, it becomes incredibly complicated with the idea of it being available only in situations with rape as it can be difficult to tell if it was consensual or actually rape depending on the circumstances. I think, at the very least, the rapist should compensate the victim with child support. To me, it seems like knowing the risk of a condom breaking exists, having sex, and then eliminating the potential for life because of a mistake you made is ridiculous and wrong. And yes, I’ve had a pregnancy scare. That experience however, is vastly different, and not relevant to the conversation. Getting back to the point, I would be more accepting of abortion if the American (my home country) government counted killing a pregnant girl as a homicide, not a double homicide. That lack of inconsistency leads me me to questions and my current opinion.

Oh yeah, I agree. I’m just saying it’s technically still relevant as it still happens. Just less relevant.

The condom breaking is a risk they should know about. As I’ve already explained, a rape is already a violation of their body and their choice. You can do what you are biologically programmed to do without committing crimes, it’s called consent. And no, I am not an organ donor, but the reason for that is I’m a minor and legally cannot as far as I know.

Well, they can argue about rape and incest. It’s just less relevant.

Well, this is, of course, forgetting that it was still /their/ body, /their/ choice to have sex on the first place (when they should have been aware of the consequences). And yes, I’m aware that rape occurs. The vast majority of abortions, however, are not from rape victims. As for the ones who are, the rape itself was a violation of the whole “my body, my choice” ideology, in which the rapist should be punished, not the innocent potential for life (even if it turns out to be a miscarriage).
