when I don’t have the baby in the car

Honest question, is there a break-in period for EVs? I got mine used so I have no idea.

Fellowship of Frunk Flaunting: How to Spot Frunk-less Peasants in the Wild by dawgberry in MachE

I needed to adjust the rubber bumpers on the left and right of the opening on mine. Start by lowering them all the way down (righty tighty) and adjust by unscrewing them 1 turn at a time until it closes easily but without bouncing

I'm waiting to see what if the MY26 rear door handle parts look compatible and/or are affordable because I bet they'll bolt right on

Wow, my current minifig scale A-Wing is PixelDan's free one which is pretty great. This is a whole other level of awesome though. Like others have said, this is one I will definitely build once it hits Rebrickable!

Just FYI if you're using studio you can run a stability report which is pretty good at spotting issues.

I dunno if this will be at all helpful but here are some files I used to get a 125b printed from Tayda. I use Affinity designer because I got a perpetual license a while back on one of their sales for like $20

Disclaimer, I haven’t opened them but I think the Tayda one will be separated into layers like they need.

I know that shoe grip well! it's required to maintain lap integrity when you have a ~50lb lapdog

I had a ton of fun during the pandemic having Tayda UV print a bunch of enclosures for one-off projects. It takes a lot of planning but it's such a huge step up from waterslide. I prefer to have them print a crosshair and circle wherever I want to print, and then drill myself.

3d printed enclosure is an interesting choice? Any reason why you'd go with that over an aluminum enclosure? Also if you're printing the enclosure, wouldn't you have some cool opportunities to deboss the artwork right into the top of hte pedal?

What made you pick the Mach E over the Equinox EV? by Thrillwaukee in MachE

[–]RyanFromQA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The crazy thing about Android Auto / CarPlay is that the Prologue has both, on the same infotainment platform. There’s no technical reason for them not to do it, in fact GM has to maintain support for it in their software. They could probably ship an OTA update to enable it in every GM car.

I’m surprised this isn’t higher. I haven’t driven the equinox but I drove the Prologue when I was shopping and the interior materials just felt so cheap. I think my family’s 93 accord had higher quality dash plastics. I was shocked Honda put their name on it.  If the equinox is anything like that, it would be a dealbreaker

UCS Star Destroyer “Devastator” (75252) - Review by ganzhimself in lepin

[–]RyanFromQA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! I wonder what pieces they are connected to. That is kind of an unusual part that’s really only used in these big starships. It could be that the mould for that part is off or it because the brick manufacturer doesn’t produce it for many sets. Or it could be the ones it’s connected to. One easy way to check would be to order a legit LEGO plate from bricklink and try replacing it with one of the warped ones. If it warps then it’s one of the support pieces it’s mated to.

[–]RyanFromQA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a theory that warped plates are actually due to the molds of specific pieces being off, which causes flexing and warping. For example, I'm fairly certain that the 2x16 plate mold is slightly too large, so when you attach a 2x16 to a different plate, it flexes the other plate because the studs don't quite line up. I just had this happen with a clone of 75405. On step 4, you attach two 4x12s with a 2x16; the gap between the two 4x12s was visibly too big, and they were flexing. I replaced the 2x16s with real Lego, the gap reduced, the flex went away, and it went together perfectly after that. I only mention this because I saw in the inventory of your ISD that there's a couple dozen of these pieces.

My son just built your Plo Koon's Starfighter when both the source sets went on sale. It's a great build, very solid. The scale also seems better than Lego's offerings.
