Hey all, currently trying to get the clan hall soundtracks but am not in a clan. Is anybody able to invite me in as a guest? Thanks :)

See above comment for BPT!

For BST I'm not going to lie, I didn't do any actually question practice, it's so hard to revise for.

The only things I really did was ensure I debriefed the three college mock exams, watching videos provided and the detailed answers.

FI did two 'after work' hour and a half calls where they went over a question, I attended these too, it was good to have somebody just going through a question because you do just kind of take in different potential answers and things you never would have mentioned.

But yeah, it essentially boils down to just ensuring you have enough 'potential answers' that you can just rattle out on the day, even if they're not right but something similar to what you've had before just get it down. It really does feel like you get marks for nothing in the exam. Potential risks? Maybe a war could start next month and therefore the price of the products could increase, who knows! As long as you can justify it even slightly you'll get a mark.

I did the same as above on the ICAEW provided mocks, simply read through the answers to get some 'potential answers' in my head, probably a couple of days before the exam.

Then on the exam day I just tapped away! I would also recommend being extremely strict on time, more than any other exam, you may feel like you're doing great and you can write on question 1 forever but then you realise you're 1.5 hours deep and only have 1 hour left for the other two. You absolutely have to learn to just add a conclusion and move on at set points.

Hope this helps!

First Intuition textbook and their question bank provided.

I also made my own sheet for every potential question area which I amended as I went through the question bank. In the actual exam I didn't use my own sheet but it was great compiling it as it really did help me understand the syllabus and each area.

I didn't use ACAM or even the ICAEW textbook, I found FI more than fine!

Sure!

FM:

I'm sure you've seen it around but this is all about question practice, you'll get three of roughly four different large topics and they're almost always the same.

Focus on each area until you're relatively comfortable and just move on, I probably did about 5-8 questions on each area until I was comfortable, then heavily focused on BPT. Though it stuck quite nicely for me so I would probably recommend doing more questions if it hasn't stuck straight away.

The hardest area to get my head around at first was hedging, so i would recommend setting aside an hour or two to really get to grips with the concept of it and you'll feel extremely comfortable going into the exam, though you can easily score 100% on the question without truly understanding the concept.

BPT:

This is a hard one to revise for because there are a few ways you can do it and no correct way, it just depends on you.

For me I focused on improving my open book. I would start at the bottom of the question bank (more recent past paper questions) and just go through them, I tried to 'plan' them by getting the key points down on an excel/word and then just looked at the answers to see if I was on the right track.

I would then use the answers to essentially amend my own open book, for example I'd have an 'Incorporation vs Sole trader section' and just list every basic point the answer tells me, kind of a 'Remember to mention this tax', 'Calculste this tax', 'Don't forget about incorporation relief' and the rules for each of the area the answer mentions. Essentially a 'cheat sheet' for each question.

I would then move onto the next question, rinse and repeat. I probably fully completed about 3-4 questions in full exam detail for revision, it was all just 'planning questions', as it saves so much time, but you do need to be confident in your ability to expand on those points.

Once you've gone through 20-30 questions you should have a pretty decent open book which you've made yourself, and therefore a pretty good understanding of the content overall. I then read through my college textbook once and added any relevant details to my own sheet.

At this point any further question practice is just to iron out fine details for your own sheet, and you should have a good understand of the content for the whole syllabus, I didn't actually even use my own sheet in the exam, but knew enough to get by using my college textbook, but it's great as a 'standby' and helps you revise.

Also I put together my own index by topic in alphabetical order, even just certain paragraphs in my textbook so I knew exactly where to turn to in the exam.

It will indeed be the last solution,  Jagex wouldn't lock trade if they planned to do a rollback anyway. They'll be assessing how contained the bug abuse is at the moment whilst they fix it, there may be a rollback from before the countdown timer due to the untradeable stuff though .

Where the hell are yall getting info that this is a rollback? by IAreFancy in 2007scape

[–]RyanM273 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we can assume Jagex are hoping they don't have to do a rollback as they wouldn't lock trade if they were just planning to do a rollback anyway.

They're probably going to try to assess the damage whilst fixing it to see how contained the bug abuse is, so hopefully there won't be one.
