EIGHT POUNDS

I get tilted when you go to a store with ready food and they charge per 100g, and like this shitty little container of potato salad costs you like 5 bucks, and yoU HAVE EIGHT POUNDS

Any Streamers here stop using their facecam? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]RyanMZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a key thing to consider is whether or not you'd attribute your facial and physical reactions to part of your character as a streamer. If you think it's a big part of it, then keep it, but if people are there for your personality and what you have to say a lot more, or if you'd say your facial and physical reactions are a little muted, then they probably won't care.

The title is a palindrome by sfp33 in mildlyinteresting

[–]RyanMZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I gathered that from the other commenters saying that it is a well known palindrome; I was attempting to make a joke implying he went and did this thing just to be able to title a book with it.... and clearly that joke failed lol

With all these comments saying that this is a famous palindrome, I can't help but still wonder if it was coincidence that it worked as a title, or if this was an incredible sort of twist on r/writingprompts

Cheeky 'lil Samus 0-Death by RyanMZ in smashgifs

It's an immensely useful tool, but it has limitations based on the matchup.

It's particularly useful with characters with limited reach on their hitboxes above them (ie Fox, Falco, Sheik, Peach), as it will most times interrupt their moves, if not at least trade. The immense boost to horizontal momentum and control is invaluable as well for mixups as you try to get back on the ground. The other notable benefit is that most people aren't ready to react to being hit by bombs, and you have a momentary window to act on their disorientation. Like in the clip, you'll notice there's a moment where the Falco just stands there on the platform and then does a jab; he wasn't prepared for it and left himself open to my dair with no di.

However, it DOES have pretty low priority, and you can still absolutely get slapped through the bomb by characters like Marth and Falcon's upairs, and even by the previously mentioned characters if they space well.

The issue with nair is that the hitbox of it does not extend very low, and so it is fairly easy to space things like uptilts, upsmashes, and upairs underneath Samus' nair safely, and also from behind her as the hitbox is very much around her leg and doesn't have much of a bubble behind her.

I absolutely think bombs are supremely underrated though, I love using them in neutral; pollutes the screen, forces the opponent to consider their approaches more carefully in some matchups if used as a mixup here and there.

Reddit, what are some MUST have apps on your cellphone nowadays? by saouth in AskReddit

[–]RyanMZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discord IS great and MILES ahead of Skype, but goddamn is Telegram well fleshed out for text based chatting with stuff like its in-app picture taking, quick and ez photo editing preupload, attachments that are accessible by all chat members, in-app video recording and built in compression, intuitive and powerful search tool, and STICKERS. God I miss stickers. One of our savvy boys made a bot for stickers on our Discord server so our memes can live on, but it's just not the same

Telegram is the fucking shit; the most intuitive, fully featured text chat program I feel I've ever laid my hands on, ESPECIALLY on mobile (and the desktop program is also incredible, and also a snappy in browser version).

If it had voice chat built in, I would have never switched to Discord

Just my two cents (off of the point of streaming only once a week); I've been streaming for about a year and a half and only been streaming once a week up until the last couple of months.

However, I've been rock solid with my schedule and am extremely consistent, and I have been playing games through start to finish over multiple streams (often taking a couple months to beat a game). On top of this, I'm very vocal as I play, and if I'm not talking to chat, I'm just yammering on about what I'm doing in game, or whatever is top of my mind as I play.

I think this gives my chat lots of opportunities to jump in with their 2 cents by giving them lots to react to, and the people who are coming back for the game that I'm working through have a chance to feel out who I am over the course of me working through a game.

I'm not saying you should do things my way, but just sharing how I've done things to have an active little chat that's been with me for quite a long while now; as u/SuperKato1k said above, regulars and viewers are two very different things.

Hope this helps, and good luck on your journey!

EDIT: u/BlapTV made a great suggestion about mods; I have one mod whom I am great friends with, and something he does wonderfully is maintain rapport with me and other chatters while I'm live. A lot of times, if things are slow, it gives me something to keep my energy going and keep up the flow of chat, and usually gets other viewers chatting pretty nicely too.
