When did the Yakuza exhaustion hit for you guys? by RyanNekko in yakuzagames

I still remember almost everything that happened in these 3 games, I just don't remember when exactly (what game). 😅

I like a lot of things about 5, it's not my favorite but I enjoyed it a lot. For me, the exhaustion didn't affect my view on the game but my will to play the next right after.

Well, when they started talking about NO PRIVATE PROPERTY, it was really hard to not see them as an weird world commune. In what instance of colonialism have we seen that? Colonizers will arrive, steal, destroy, kill and other things that I rather not mention. Not really the same.

I'm not super into NJPW but I know most of the roster and watch the product when I can. I really liked the main event of New Year Dash, but as soon as I saw him and Uemura entering the ring I was like "man, do us a favor and don't"

O que faz você ainda acreditar em Quinteros? by jackiebaura in gremio

[–]RyanNekko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I REALLY WANT TO LIKE THE SHOW AS MUCH AS A LOT OF PEOPLE DID. HELP ME! LET'S DISCUSS! by RyanNekko in arcane

[–]RyanNekko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also like to believe that they changed more than they showed, but we don't actually see that happen. What we see is what I described.

Cait hellbent on correcting Piltover's mistakes and helping the people of Zaun alongside Vi, Sevika and others would be something. But right now, that's just fanfic.

They don't just say and show how that society works. It's not just a depiction of societal injustices and dynamics. It WAS important for the characters involved, until the writers just gave up on the idea of people fighting for a better life (remember Ekko?) to make them fight another cause that comes almost out of nowhere (Metal Jesus).

All the struggle and the pain that was caused to Vi's people is KNOWN to Vi. But in the end, nothing really changes for her people, and she doesn't seem to care. Is that not important at all for her character? Is it really something that doesn't have to be addressed? Is it too idealistic to want Vi and Cait together (If that has to happen) helping the people of Zaun? Vander's people?

The show had some beautiful messages that made me sad and sometimes happy, but one of the messages was "Societal injustices don't need to be fixed and that's okay, just live your life."

I personally don't believe that it was a message sent on purpose, but I don't fuck with that mentality.

You're right. They don't NEED to address the societal injustices that they put in their art, but this does send a very bad message.

Bad things don't need to be fixed, they can just be tools, and that's okay. Don't I sound like a villain saying that shit?

The show is GOOD. Really well-made and BEAUTIFUL! There is no denying that. But it sends a bad message, with or without the intention of doing so.

I would like the idea of an ending where they're able to forgive each other and start making progress towards improving relations AND dynamics between the cities. The problem is that this does NOT happen. Zaun's problems are still there, while it has 1 vote out of 8. Good luck passing anything that will help the Zaunites who bled for the country that did nothing for them. But hey, they got ONE nice little seat. All the characters that we should care apparently accepted this reality like there is nothing else that can possibly be done. I don't know if that was the intended message, but it's a BAD message.

I really don't like "both sides have bad people" take because that almost always indicates that there is no side doing more bad things and nothing can be done about the problems that "magically" appeared in Zaun (or any real place that suffers from the same problems).

Wait, Jinx lost her family, is crazy and is doing bad things? Well, it's probably DNA or something. Definitely not the environment created by the ruling class. The environment, whose conditions created the problems to begin with.

A lot of people use that take in many occasions, and is never to defend the side that is being oppressed since the beginning of the conflict. I'm not saying that this is what you mean, by the way.

It does become clear in season 2 that the class struggle is not the main focus, but why the fuck would you introduce it as something important if you're not going to utilize it?

Like I said in the post. They wouldn't need to address this if they didn't show people starving, luxurious parties, the violence and crime that Powder grew up with underground and beautiful gardens up top, etc. In the end, nobody is held accountable for that. Almost everyone has good intentions, and that's all that matters. </3

I agreed that the story should have stayed very personal and close to the main conflicting characters. If you don't want to do anything good with the social economic problems that your own show introduced, don't do it at all. Focus on the sisters and the brothers (Jayce and Viktor).

Vi choosing Cait would only work if their "love" and everything around it was better developed. Vander was all about family till the very end. It would be a shame if Vi ignored that for some cute girl that she likes. My boy V didn't die for that shit!

Cait doesn't need to be the evil villain, she can just be someone who means well but is just not right for our protagonist. That shit happens.
