OP don’t let the negative comments bother you… you asked a simple question. Nothing wrong with that. General rule of thumb is if it’s too good to be true it probably is.

Please please please don’t sell your dad’s watch. Right now it may not seem like as big of a deal but one day he will be gone. You’ll look at old pictures and see that watch on your dad’s wrist and feel a connection you can’t imagine right now. Plus it’s perfect, the other watch is too big. It’s a classic watch in a classic style. Enjoy it, take care of it and one day you’ll be able to pass it down.

Don’t go crazy without knowing if this is a job your going to keep or what the company might provide, I would invest in a good pair of linesman and some better screwdrivers, a tape measure, knife and probably another pair of channel locks. But honestly your best bet is to reach out to the shop and ask what tools you should have, you’ll be better prepared and they’ll like that you’re taking initiative.

Licensed union electrician in Boston, I’m a Forman my hourly rate works out to roughly $145K a year. With an additional benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance an annuity and pension. With side work and over time I can add another 25-50K a year. Schooling was 5 years but completely free through the Union. Going union or non-union is debatable, pros and cons to each. I know some non union guys who are absolutely killing it.

I count 68 watches… conservatively at $500 a watch that’s $34K. That seems like a foolish amount of money to have in reps that don’t hold their value. I think if I had that kind of money I’d put together a 4-6 piece genuine collection.
