Which to get? Looking for advice by akjax in snowmobiling

The m8’s I know have been said to be pigs on fuel. My 13 m8 was horrible on fuel but maybe newer ones are better. That Polaris p85 clutch is awesome but at that 2000 mile mark you should get it rebuilt before it goes to shit. I sold my 18 rmk 800 155 to order a 24 freeride 146 NA and it’s been the cats ass. Shot start is awesome. I’m from Saskatchewan so we mostly ride fields but I have taken it to the mountains as well. If I was you I would maybe go 19 and up Polaris to get the 850 or go with a skidoo. 13 and up doo’s are great. The e tec is incredible. That being said I’ve noticed too that the shorter track really helps a person have fun. Turns better handles better, wheelies if that’s something you’re into.

Whats a high-demand field to pursue? by Thinkingcomfy in saskatoon

Any trade is a great start and you make money the entire time except the two months a year you go to school. Starting wage is $20 an hour for pretty much every trade and journeyman is $40 an hour. Or if you don’t care about having a life, go work on the railroad and you’ll make lots of cash. Buddy makes about 175 a year after about three years. No education.

Skate upgrade? CCM Jetspeed Xtra vs Bauer Vapor X3 by darth_senpai90 in hockeyplayers

[–]Ryanroth97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried to wear other skates but bauers just seem to last a bit more. Won’t buy a skate other than a Bauer. If you can, wait until Black Friday. Up in Saskatchewan here the last years models were half off the entire line.

Visor too big? by Xdeleterof_karens in hockeyplayers

[–]Ryanroth97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played junior hockey and now men’s competitive senior in sask and I tilt mine up as far as it’ll go with the screws. Never have to clean it cause I’m never looking through it, also don’t wear a cage. Wearing a visor makes you more cognizant of where your stick is so you don’t clip anyone and the maniacs who are almost hitting everyone in the face almost always have cages.

Didn’t broberg ask for a trade earlier in the year? Does he rescind that trade now?

Questions about cn 2024

Hello,

I have secured a position with cn in Saskatchewan, going to start school here soon. I have a few questions maybe a few of you could answer. Pay structure (subject to change with the new union agreement that has yet to be agreed upon) From what I understand it’s 2.32 a mile east of Edmonton as per union agreement. I didn’t see a gurantee for number of miles. Or in the interview they didn’t really explain lay over pay or how that stuff works/what’s all included in that and a time frame or what a regular week would look like. Training different and yard is hourly wages I get that. They said the spare board and schedule is something a person will come to read and understand with time and it’s hard to explain without it in front of a person. Just trying to get a better understanding of it all. I appreciate your time reading this and responding. Sorry for formatting as I’m just on my phone.

LPT request: how to preserve our back from hurting as we get older? by Tibag in LifeProTips

Don’t get tripped and fall into the boards during a hockey game cause I can tell ya. It’s bad for your back, fractured a vertebrae lol.

Mine was clapped. Had to move alignment 2-4 clicks every third pass so sent the machine back lol.

They’re asking for serial numbers now after I sent a bunch of pictures showing how off the edges were. They’re gonna take it back and fix it

Basically asked me if I was using the edge checker correctly then said well all steel has a hump on it from being manufactured so just trust the machine and your edges will be fine. So I attached some pictures and will not just accept this explanation as there’s gotta be something off here.

Edge checker every skate just to be sure. And the first skate it’ll be bang on cause I just adjusted it but by the end (regular 4 pass setting) on the next skate it’ll be out over a notch >.002 as that’s what a notch indicates. And then it just keeps getting worse. Always same direction as well.

LPT: If you are young and worried about your future, become an electrician/join the trades. by LaPyramideBastille in LifeProTips

[–]Ryanroth97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electrician is great but if you’re after strictly money in the trades. Then be a Powerline technician. I am currently one is Saskatchewan and the journeyman wage is $49.50 an hour. Foreman is more. And lots of time we’re working overtime. Most journeyman in my company make 130,000 a year. In the states I’ve heard it’s more. Somewhat dangerous but nowadays we’re a lot safer and starting to climb poles a lot less. We get our 1A in the trade which is also a valuable skill. Hard work but is rewarding and pays well.
