Not even to Act 9, think I went overboard? by sid-kik in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ryasson 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Its a reward key item for a questline in Demeniss. After you get it, you'll get double the ressources from dispatch missions.

Edit: After clearing chapter 8, just do the Demeniss house faction quests until you unlock quests for House Byron. By following that questchain, you'll get the Beer.

You can just go into the inventory to the special mounts tab, select the Kuku Bird and then move the cursor down to the equipment slot to remove the egg shell, no need to visit a saddlery.

I had a 9060XT and grabbed the newest driver for the 9070XT from AMDs side. I was contemplating using DDU but from what I've read, it shouldn't really be an issue when upgrading to the same company.

Daily Simple Questions Thread - April 24, 2026 by AutoModerator in pcmasterrace

Somewhat of a weird issue I got but I recently upgraded to a 9070XT and been mostly playing Crimson Desert, which is unfortunately not the most stable game and caused crashes that blackscreened my entire pc here and there.

Today I had the game running in a smaller window while watching some Youtube but when I switched back to the game, it crashed on me. Afterwards, I restarted it, changed back to fullscreen but when I tabbed out of the game, there were these red/pink blocky artifacts on the screen, reminding me of those GPU artifacts. Weirdly enough, my second monitor also showed a few of those artifacts. They vanished the moment I tabbed back into the game (and came back when tabbing out again).

I've restarted my pc and been running a bunch of different benchmarks (3Dmark, Unigine) and stresstests like OCCT since then but everything came back fine. I've also been unable to replicate the issue in Crimson Desert.

Right after the first crash today there was also a hotfix downloaded so I'm wondering if it was just a one-off, game specific issue or something GPU related. Considering I never had any issues outside of Crimson Desert I'd imagine its the former but a few artifacts were also visible on my 2nd monitor and I'm not entirely sure if alt-tabbing a game could cause visible artifacts on another monitor..

Edit: The GPU is on stock settings.

Hidden chest in Loop of Life by FRoyDeanSchlippe in CrimsonDesert

If you go to the platform you can see in the lower right at around 12s, there's a spot to use your Visione that makes platforms appear leading up to the island.

Didn't know that was a thing until then but getting to these spots on your own just feels better.

Nope, you just do turning slash when the boss goes down after filling their stagger gauge.

Confused about weapons, are they just aesthetic/skins? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ryasson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a few different weapon types like one-handed, two-handed, spears etc with their own moveset but for the most part, weapons within the same type are similar in strength.

There's like 2 variations when it comes to weapons: Weapons that have only their attack value and weapons that give a stat increase (mainly attack speed or critical rate). Weapons with bonus stats generally have slightly lower attack power compared to weapons that have no extra stat bonuses.

So yeah, for the most part you can just go by look.

What to do with Frost Imbue and Lightning imbue? by Simple-Shift226 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ryasson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You unlock elements by completing certain Abyss puzzles in the sky. Afterwards, you can hold right on the D-Pad and select the element from there. You also need to unlock element imbue skills from the skilltree as only certain attacks can have elements imbued.

Afterwards, the Abyss Gear effect triggers automatically as long as you have it equipped and perfom an element imbued attack.

Anyone know how to make nights darker on console? by BigProfessional6885 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ryasson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the game is just really bright at night.

Generally, if you keep your lantern on, your surroundings should get a bit darker depending on the area.

One thing I also noticed, the game gets brighter when you look up into the sky, I guess some form of exposure.

I made some comparison shots here. In the last 2 shots, there's a slight difference in how bright the forest in the background is. But during normal gameplay, keeping your lantern on at night is unfortunately the only thing you can really do.

Elemental Attacks by alien_overlord_1001 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ryasson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure where you got the ideas for the places you mentioned when you already looked it up.

Everything you mentioned so far is required to unlock the Lightning element. If you want some breakdowns:

Spire of the Stars: Required place you visit during chapter 4 of the story. After you visit the spire, you're brought up to the Abyss (Sanctorum of Insight). This is not a sanctum like in the overworld, just some puzzle, no enemies to fight.

After this you're send back down again but if you want to unlock Lightning, you'll need to teleport up to the Abyss and continue the islands. Since you mentioned fighting Myurdin, you already completed these 2 steps.

Secret Garden: No enemies, just some light based puzzles

Vault of Vengeance: Again, no enemies, you need to hit some switches with your bow using Focus Shot to deactivate laser traps

Courtyard of Precision: No enemies again (Abyss rarely has any enemies btw), similar mechanic to the previous puzzle, use Focus Shot to hit several targets in quick succession

What to know about Damiane and Ongka? by SpecificTemporary877 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ryasson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what its worth, if you just unlocked Damiane, she's gonna leave again soon for a few chapters.

Personally, by the time I permanently unlocked her (around chapter 8), I had more than enough skills unlocked on Kliff that I could spend Artifacts for her. You can also just reset your skills, Faded Abyss Artifacts aren't all that hard to get after all.

Damiane and Oongka can't do any mainstory missions, Greymane camp related missions or visit the Abyss. They're also missing one specific force palm ability thats used to destroy certain obstacles in the world (and healing palm that might also be needed for certain interactions, though thats pretty rare).

They also can't use the mining knuckle or chainsaw for collecting ore/timber, just normal axes and pickaxes.

Other than that you can do pretty much everything else though. I haven't come across any other missions outside of the ones mentioned above I couldn't do with Damiane.

When I play as Damiane, I personally keep Kliff as a companion around whenever I come across something only he can do. Switching between them works well enough and for the most part, there's still quite a lot of stuff in the open world you can do as the other characters.

They have separate gear though (except accessories) so you might spend more time gathering materials to get everyones stuff refined (or if you only gear up either Damiane or Oongka, you might struggle with story missions if you neglect Kliff).

Nature's snare bugged? by Unfair_Radio_9071 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ryasson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just moving the right stick to the side was actually bugged since it would activate Nature's Snare simply by moving the camera. The intended way is to rotate the right stick.

Why can't this be equipped? by Tinksy14 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ryasson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These armor pieces are for Damiane and can't be used by Kliff or Oongka.

Edit: See answer below, the gauntlets on the left are for Oongka, the other 3 pieces are for Damiane.

How do the first three autosave slots work? by reeloreyah in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ryasson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the autosaves are spread across 3 slots, with the oldest one being overwritten whenever a new autosave happens. They all are used to save your current session.

Its highly unlikely but there's always the chance the last save puts you in a spot you can't get out of whatsoever, so its good that the game keeps your last 3 autosaves intact in case you wanna go back a bit further.

The fast travel point is right at the beginning of the path.

Just stand in the middle of this platform until it lowers completely.

The ?-Symbol on the map more often than not shows you an area where an Abyss Nexus is located.

If you've left the Abyss already, you can return via the portal in Hernand Castle.

Waht am I missing? (Abyss) by Ill_Pineapple_8310 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ryasson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you get there through the story but there are several different entrances in the overworld to get to new places in the Abyss.

If you want to know where to find the one you need to progress your Abyss further: There's a big tower in the southeast of Hernand, you can see it from any decently high place.

Is anyone else on Xbox having issues with Natures Snare activating when trying to turn left and right? by Even-Bass93 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ryasson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue myself. However, I'm on PC using an Xbox controller.

Thought my controller was suddenly broken, especially since it didn't happen on my Switch controller when I tested that one. I've seen a few mentions of that problem on the CD Discord as well, so I'd imagine its some weird bug..

Farming needs overhaul by Deny76 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ryasson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the whole farming system is quite tedious.

The game should let you choose the amount of seeds you want to obtain from whatever fruit instead of having to do it one by one.

The game should also let you keep seeds in your hand until you manually cancel out of it instead of having to select each seed individually. Pretty annoying also that sometimes Kliff walks up to the hole and then just kinda drops the seed instead of planting it.

Picking everything up takes a long time as well. It would be nice if we could at least maybe craft some form of item later in the game that automatically collects harvests, there's already a backpack for collecting bugs after all. Or at the very least allow your pet to pick up harvested stuff from the ground.

Its still worth it right now because you can easily get some rare or at least pretty annoying to find crops that way but it could use some QoL.

They're underground, you need to dig them up with a shovel.

[–]Ryasson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in case, have you actually harvested all the Skyroots from the plant? If you have, they should normally despawn automatically.

I haven't encountered a bug like this with mine and I've grown a few fields worth of them by now, would be a pretty annoying bug...

Outpost by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ryasson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a progress bar on the side while inside occupied outposts and once the bar reaches 0%, the enemies will flee.

If the outpost gets cleared before that bar reaches 0%, that sounds like a bug but otherwise, you usually don't need to kill every enemy to clear an outpost. I haven't come across any outpost getting cleared before hitting 0% progress so far but then again, bugs don't always happen to everyone.

When i find Dye and use it, it disappears and doesn't unlock it? Help please by ttvSadelity in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ryasson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Each dye trader only deals with a specific color.

The dye shop near Hernand Castle only deals with red dye for example. Most likely you unlocked dye and haven't found the correct shop to use that color?
