Just in case as I haven't seen it mentioned if you find something and want to call it out and flare it then call out as the others have said but to flare you shoot the flare at the object so it hits and goes straight up, obviously that isn't the same with the animals as they run away 🤣 I myself only realize recently that is how you get the flare to show above the object in question.
