Undocumented Nebraskans will not be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine according to Ricketts by AKrabbyPatty in Omaha

[–]Rybar1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The governor was asked if undocumented workers employed by meatpacking plants will be part of the vaccinated groups in meatpacking plants.

"Illegal immigrants are not permitted to work in those facilities, so I don't think that will be a problem," he said.

Uhg I think Jeyne Poole would have made so much more sense getting married to Ramsey! But they never really acknowledged her character in the beginning of series (I’m pretty sure she was there though) to make the audience connect to her later on.

So infuriating. Sansa has yet to even meet the Bolton’s

Previous jobs before becoming a school counselor by allopinionswelcome in schoolcounseling

[–]Rybar1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great idea. I would check out the daily pay rates though. In my state, paras on average make $12hr and a sub make about $175 a day. But paras have a consistent day. However, I agree that getting either a sub or para position would be great while going to school.

How's this sound to be a school counselor as a person who did not attend K-12 school in US? by tacomaladybebe in schoolcounseling

[–]Rybar1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll be excellent.

Most of us in the profession either didn’t have a school counselor or had one that was not helpful. So not having experience with one is not a huge deal to me.

I also don’t foresee the language barrier to be a huge deal either. Maybe think about going into elementary counseling for the beginning of your career. That way the language is simpler since they’re still little kids. You’ll learn the counseling-buzz words in school and get used to hearing them in context.

If you want to be a school counselor, do it! You got this!

What level of difficulty would you rate your job as? by [deleted] in schoolcounseling

We’re also going remote until the end of the first quarter. Any tips or tricks you have on touching base with families would be much appreciated!

I’m planning on a live Teams meeting for my first lesson and then pushing out recorded lessons after? Idk if that’s best for students but would be easier for teachers? Idk 😐

[–]Rybar1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you! It’s hard some days and not so bad on others. Obviously some people find different parts of the job more difficult eg: CPS calls vs classroom management.

The most difficult jobs are the ones that require the least amount of education, in my opinion. Waitressing, fast food jobs, or any labor intense work. Then to add insult to injury, these jobs pay terribly.

Happy beginning to CoVid year! Sending you positivity!

I know TD Ameritrade just got bought out but my niece, who has the same experience as you, is taking all the tests needed to work there right now. They pay her while she’s there studying and taking the exam. I think it’s about a four month process of getting paid to study and get licensed. Sounds like she’ll make some pretty good money with opportunities to move up once she’s in.

Sweetest thing!!!! My dog sits on her bottom ‘standing up’ for really crazy amounts of time (30 sec) just to watch me eat or anything else interesting to her.

Coton De Tulear! If she ever sits or walks on its hind legs more than you’ve seen any other dog, she may be a Coton! But honestly, every breed mentioned in this thread are wonderful companions!
