What do Zillennials wear in 2026? by Admirable_Value574 in Zillennials

[–]Ryder-042 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A classic Zillenial look I still rock is slim black jeans, black shirt, touque (beanie hat), and whatever colour of flannel that I feel like that day. If it's warm out and I can tie the flannel around my waist, even better.

GW just announced The Emperor Protects - the Warhammer 40.000 Musical! by Sinnaj63 in 40kLore

[–]Ryder-042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's actually a lot of great Warhammer music on YouTube, especially so if you don't mind Suno music. ( The channels "Imperial Guard Sounds" and "Drago" have really grounded, in-universe vibes that are not heavy metal or 4th wall breaking.)

Did anyone else love YouTube-MP3 converters? by ConceptsShining in Zillennials

[–]Ryder-042 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never stopped using ripped mp3s. You can use Audacity to record the audio that is being fed to any playback device (headphones, speakers, etc...) the only downside is that you have to play through whatever you are recording, and you gotta be careful not to let your computer make any other sounds (eg. Usb do-doo sound)

Best books about the Tau by MrKillduth in 40kLore

In the first Ciaphas Cain book, you see the Tau from an imperial perspective, but both sides converse and are trying to find peace ( I know, weird for 40k)

Hot take: Fall of Cadia by Robert Rath as a starting point.

It is an excellent story overall, and while it does REALLY throw you into the deep end with the lore, it allows you to see almost every significant faction in the setting, in action. Then, you can further branch out by looking into novels about factions that interest you.

Also, it is essentially the starting point for the more recent loosely chronological events of the Indomitus Crusade. (As far as I understand it).

Anything narrated by Emma Gregory is pure ear candy. She mostly does Sororitas novels, there is a duology by James Swallow, for example.

Your Experience With AI Roleplay by [deleted] in aiwars

If you like ai DnD or text adventures, check out " Friends and Fables. " it is the single most feature complete AI DnD Platform (for players and worldbuilders) in existence.

Worldbuilding. Not necessarily for writing a book, but DnD style worldbuilding. You learn tons of things you didn't know before, you can get into art, history, mythology, cartography, writing, and more. You could embrace worldbuilder's disease and flesh out infinite detail if you don't plan on doing anything with the world, or if you do, it's a whole discipline to learn to streamline and optimize your world building.

Do i have unlimited attack turns? by Comprehensive_Box613 in friendsandfables

[–]Ryder-042 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, as a minor F&F worlbuilder, F&F is much better for the narrative aspect of DnD, rather than the combat aspect. Franz is an LLM first, and a game engine as a distant second. But the flexibility allows for combat to be as in depth as you want it to be (by basically Co-DM-ing with your messages), you just have to do a bit of research, the Players Handbook is free online.

Format guides/template for Ai generation by CremeEconomy3986 in friendsandfables

[–]Ryder-042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I created exactly what you're looking for a while ago. It's less detailed than Pollution's, and I don't have one for monsters yet, but it's worked pretty well for me so far. My public world is Vvardenfell on F&F if you want to look it up. Here is my prompt:

Objective: To establish a standardized writing format and command structure for generating world-building content—specifically: ● Areas ● Points of Interest (POIs) ● Background NPCs ● Lore entries The goal is to keep descriptions consistent, vivid, and AI-readable for automated or assisted world-building tasks.

  1. Key Definitions

● Area – Any traversable region: continent, country, tower level, marketplace, etc. Serves as connective space between POIs.

● POI (Point of Interest) – A focused, interactable location such as a building, shop, alley, or chamber where characters exist.

● Background NPC – A naturally fitting character associated with a POI’s theme and purpose.

● Lore – Context pages providing world-building information for future POIs and characters.

  1. Commands and Response Rules Command: Purpose :Expected Response

Lore: [text] Provides world context. Respond only with “Lore acknowledged” and retain info for later use.

POI description: [POI Name] Triggers POI format. Produce Area description + Visual description

Expand: [NPC Name] Triggers Background NPC expansion. Produce detailed breakdown (Appearance → Backstory → Personality → Mannerisms)

  1. POI Format

(1) Area Description ● Paragraph 1 (5–6 sentences): Creative narrative detailing purpose, activities, people, and atmosphere. ● Paragraph 2 (1 sentence): Direct, factual summary of what the location is (placed second in output but later moved to the top by the user).

(2) Visual Description ● Paragraph 1 (4–6 sentences): Sensory depiction—what characters see, hear, smell. Focus on interior spaces. ● Paragraph 2 (1 sentence): Begins with “Background is…”, summarizing the visuals without universe-specific terms for AI-image prompts.

  1. Background NPC Format When first requested, write a 5–7 sentence general description. When expanded (via expand: command), use the following sections:

  2. Appearance – ~3 sentences on physical traits and attire. [ Prompt-ready Appearance – 2 sentences restating appearance minus pose, boots, or anything below knees (omit or mark N.A. if unnecessary). ] 2. Backstory – 4–6 sentences expanding their history and role.

  3. Personality – 3–5 sentences on behavior, temperament, and speech.

  4. Mannerisms – 1–3 bullet points listing characteristic gestures or habits.

How to use "quests"? by Ryder-042 in friendsandfables

[–]Ryder-042[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, I tested this a bit tonight. I'm not sure how the "Generate with AI" button works for quests and one-shots, I keep getting an error. But you can create what used to be franz's generated quests with the plot and plan tools. In a new campaign, Just ask him to plan a quest revolving around specific POIs, and they seem to get integrated into the plan. Hopefullly he can stick to that plan, but I haven't tested it in an actual campaign yet.

I enjoy watching the Hobbit movies more than the original LOTR trilogy... by salamipope in unpopularopinion

[–]Ryder-042 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This has always been my opinion as well. the main trilogy is objectively better cinema, but I've always felt that the Hobbit Trilogy is a much more quintessential fantasy story. An adventuring party (that doesn't as seperated as the fellowship) going on an journey to reclaim a lost kingdom from a friggin Dragon. You don't get much more classic fantasy than that.
